I don’t have any “evidence” that TLG was a complete mess other than it taking 10 years to make. And when it did come out, as nice as it was, it was neither groundbreaking nor particularly successful. That’s all.

I disagree that The Last Guardian wasn't successful: it achieved its aim perfectly and is a creation that will stand the test of time.

That's a worthwhile investment as proven by Shadow of the Colossus, which will likely see remasters until graphics have plateaud at photorealistic VR.

Well, since they took a hiatus from development I’m not sure it’s safe to say it took ten years to make.
