I live in England, and I've never seen it look that brown except in war movies. And even then, the uniforms are greenish brown and the roads greyish brown
And as a side point, overcast skies increase saturation in perceived colours. Choice of colours here are purely artistic and no attempt to be true to life. Which is okay in principle, but I'm not the only one finding it quite tiring.
i live in the north west. i'm well away of what over cast skies look like with war time artitecture. since my town still has war time buildings. in war time you can't afford coloured paint. all the buldings were plain. this is the way it was. it also looks like autumn weather. it fits with my experience of such. don't feed me some rubbish about increased saturation. since it's just not true.
