PS3 Kiosks in Best Buy (PA)

Just got back from there, to get a VGA Cable for the 360 and they had the PS3 setup!

Quick review:

Six axis is very comfortable. I was dreading going back to the PS controller after using the 360 one, but the shortened handles and the R2 and L2 buttons are great.

It has a Motorstorm Demo and some NBA game. The controllers hang loose on the kiosk, and they have plastic shielding around the center. This unfortunately stops you from hitting start or select.

The thing that struck me the most was how Motorstorm really doesnt look as good as the videos. The framerate gets pretty low at the starting point or when a lot of vehicles are on the screen. It also seems to have bad mipmap transitions.

The NBA game (who's intro is entirely too long) has really horrendously low poly spectators.

Thats about all I can recall, I didnt play it much.

Theres also shelf space reserved for Wii Products and PS3 products. Theres already two system holders for the Wii, and a rapebundle hdmi cable for the PS3 @ 100$ (lol).

Theres also some pamflets for Wii and PS3, launch manuals.

Crappy cell phone pics:

5$ off COD3,Marvel, Tony Hawk (only one)
5$ off Resistance
5$ off PS2 WWE 2007
5$ off oblivion

You try holding a cell phone on it, theres no way to drive! I could only accellerate or else the camera would be off the screen XD

You have probably played old build of Motorstorm demo [e3]. On Gamers Day event they had much better framerate and graphic quality...

Yup, they are doing the usual best buy snake oil deal with cables. monoprice.com, gold plated HDMI for 8$. Cant go wrong ;)

Hopefully diehard, Cause I was honestly expecting more from the game.

maybe, but it's the one on the demo kiosks it's the one that everyone will be playing.

that said, it's the same for the 360 demos... they are too soon, too little to judge the full game for anyone that knows games.

Joe average gamer will still be WOWED by Motorstorm, I'm sure.
