My Buffalo Live DLNA server has finally reached its full potential. Now time to upgrade to a gigabit + 802.11n home network at one go.

BD 1.1 is nice too. Which movie(s) will be 1.1 next year ?

I think the first movie to use 1.1 is Sony's own title Resident Evil Extinction which hits in the US on January 2nd. I believe it uses the PIP bonus view.

so what is divx 3.11? I keep on hearing ppl at gaf say "no, divx 3.11 = lame." Does 360 have this?

I believe it was a hacked version of the Divx codec. 360 will not play 3.11 encoded files either.

Yes. Like Flash, it needs you to accept the separate licence agreement. Though it may also register something online if it can, not sure.

Similar "buried" settings exist for ATRAC, WMA and now WMV. Since ATRAC is a Sony thing, I don't think it's related to politics, may be licensing and payment ?

I thought WMV uses WMA switch as well.

I was amazed to see that also, but it may only be VC-1 encoded files in a WMV container that it plays back. We'll see. Blu-ray 1.1 support is sweet though.

So far I believe the list is War, Resident Evil: Extinction, 3:10 To Yuma and Sunshine. PS3 is BD 2.0 ready as well so we can look forward to that upgrade eventually

Is the 2gb Divx limit purely to limit HD content, therefore protecting Blu Ray?

FYI, Xvid files are recognized as Divx and play fine.

You're right. Should be the same switch since I can play a WMV movie with WMA enabled.

No idea. Sounds like it's only for PS3 chat.
