Post *your* Lair impressions/experiences

some levels are beautifull ,some are a pain to watch.
Some missions are great and epic ,some are a total frustrating mess.

I bought the game when I was in the states, dollar is weak so to me it was about half price compared to Norway. And the reason I bought it was because I wanted to see if it was as bad as everybody said it was.

And well, its not fun, I stopped playing the first level since the I just wasn't able to do the stuff I was supposed to and I wanted to like the game to just say, come on it aint that bad.
I will give it another go again, but to me its just not fun.

if the demo is any indication and if its just ”some” then it is not worth it at all
most of them looks good

I have not any problems with control and after patch actions like 180 turn and speed up much easier to do with D pad buttons

in general i do agree with the overuse of HDR and a dull color pallet in this game, but personally i enjoyed it alot not only for its massive epic battles and hollywood level score, but also an unique way of flying a dragon using the 6axis. it's really responsive if you're adapted to the mechanics, it's really not that hard, come on! some levels are so beautifully rendered and massive you'll be truely immersed. anyone who played the sea serpent level, the Malestrom level and the final level would agree with me.

Like any game you have to get used to the controls. Once you have then you can make a judgement on whether it's fun or not.

I agree with _phil_
Some are mighty impressive. Some are a mess (including gameplay).

I just bought DualShock 3 and will give it another go. I was stucked at the Fleet Escort level. I kept running out of time and failed the mission.

On a side note, I don't quite like rumble now that I got used to SIXAXIS. My RFOM performance dropped horribly because of all the vibration (Can't keep gun on opponent's head long enough). If I press too hard to suppress the vibration, I went into zoom mode (R3) and lost the enemy.

It's also too heavy now. Hopefully, rumble in an adventure game will redeem itself.

Nesh, you should try to find the game save for the Serpent Level (Level 7 ?).

Does rumble affect motion? Prior to rumble's inclusion the old talk was that it could be managed alongside. From the sounds of it Sony have just chucked a motor in there and be damned.

I totally agree and I went into it thinking it can not be as based as people say. And in general I like to use motion controls, but this game just did not give me enough progress or what not to want to persist with it.

Anyways as I said, I'll try it again someday :)

which level does the demo feature? it's best to judge Lair after a run through of the entire game. you're obviously missing out alot of the juice.

Well the demo starts with some small tutorial (pass through rings and such).

Then it puts me in the action. The particular stage begins by asking me to check on a firing tower. There is that huge flying manta ray looking think too. Once I approach the enemies throw a catapult and attack the tower.

After I destroy the soldiers and catapult there is that huge monster which is on our site pulling some things in the river and I have to protect them from the enemies who are trying to steal them.

From the experience I had from that demo I d say that I would be scared to buy it even if I find it on platinum. The controls even with the analog stick lacked the sense of enjoyment. I didnt find it hard in general. Just annoying for some reason. The aerial fights though annoyed me. It didnt make much sense in terms of feel. And the change of mission from one to the next was so sudden and messed up that I felt that the game didnt want me to enjoy it

Is the game really that inconsistent in terms of quality?

that'll be the 2nd level from your description. the objectives do change too sudden sometimes but to me i dont find that too distracting. maybe it's just that level, overall it's more or less balanced. have tried the lock on R1 during the ariel fight? it helps alot but if that still doesnt help then maybe lair isnt made for you my friend. cheers.

Cant remember which button I pressed, but my dragon charged to the enemy dragon with one of the buttons. I was often asked to do some motion sensing movements I didnt quite get.
