PixelJunk Shooter *

I played a bit earlier. Good fun. In fact I just got back from some work thing and I'm quite tipsy but thinking of playing a bit more.

On first impressions I thought it was practically a clone of Gravity Crash. But it's not.

I'd suggest giving it a go. The dual stick controls not containing shooting took a few minutes to get used to but once I was used to them it controls really well.

I tried a bit of Critter Crunch between rounds of this and, sorry to say, I wasn't interested in it at all. I guess that's because PJS is so much easier!

Does anyone know if this is a single player game or is there some multiplayer fun to be had with it as well? I recently found out that Eden is great fun with two players... Would be great if this one is too.

A great shooter! I usually don't like much Thrust style games, but here the gravity isn''t that heavy, and controls are good.
The lava and water add a nice puzzle element. I only played therough the first stage, and it was a bit too easy, hopefully there'll be more challenge later on.
The music is also great.
Definitely worth buying!

Edit: there is 2 player mode, haven't tried it, but I'd guess it'd work much the same as Eden's.

Yes, there are MP mode but I didn't try.

Chiming in to congragulate the team on another great game. What did your moms feed you when you were young ? ^_^

Only 2 player though, right? AFAIK multiplayer is coop. I don't recall hearing about versus. Which IMO is exceedingly dull with only 2 players in most games.

Cracking game!!! Not many players im noticing on the leaderboards..........ive many scores in the top 100,. Hopefully with word of mouth, more people will take the plunge.

I've been having some fun with this. Just getting into episode 2. Awesome blend of shooter action with some mild puzzle elements (so far at least). I like hunting for diamonds. PJ feel all over the place. Lot's of polish.

I am somewhere in episode 2 now. The gameplay variety is pretty impressive. I am a little dazzled by the amount of danger on this planet. "Oh wow, I can die this way ?"

Looking for a new signature now. ;-)

Up into Episode 3. I really like the different suits and environmental elements. I feel still being introduced to them all and still a little easy right now. I can see the difficulty increasing in the very near future. Is it 2 player local only?

Yes, the new elements seem to add new dimension to the game.

I think instinctively, the player can feel that, if the developers are mean enough, they could already mix all the elements up to make a confusing and difficult game. I'm also anticipating the difficulty to ramp up.

Only seen as far as the beginning of the second environment (Ice) but I'm liking what I'm seeing. Q-Games have taken a very simple physical engine, wonderfully 'next-gen' on account of being beyond previous hardware to pull off these fluid dynamics and it shows that yes, 'sophisticated' algorithms can make for good games as much as sophisticated graphics can, and built a great rock-paper-scissors type of gameplay that's simple yet engrossing and rewarding.

The first chapter was fairly disappointing after Eden, but the second one was really fun with the grabs and elemental "weapons".
We only play coop with my better half and it seems the coop in this game is more popular than Eden, looking at our ranks.
How many chapters are there?

What is an episode in this game? I hear there are 3 in total. I guess it's after every boss encounter, you basically move on to the next layer which is also the next episode.

If this is the case, then I'm in the third episode, close to before the final stage (I think) - still have to find some diamonds to meet the requirement to play it though.

Great game this one is. I really like it a lot, but at the same time, I really hoped for a bit more of a challenge or some more tricky moments where. There is some great level where you really have to think about how you route the lava coming above to be able to save all miners AND be able to make it to the stages exit. Unfortunately though, there are just too few of these levels that really make you think. IMO, it just feels like a too much of a regular shooter and progressing from start to end without much thought and can be made up by skill entirely.

Hopefully, there wil be more DLC to address this and to expand the game. :)
