Sorry, Vysez, let me add Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon to the list missing from the announcement.

My mistake of Digital Extremes.
No problem.

And yes, the event was meant for Japan and third party announcement only, I think.

NINETY-NINE NIGHTSâ„¢
PGR 3 - PROJECT GOTHAM RACING 3 -

I wanna say it's geared towards the Japanese market, but what are games like

Call of Duty 2
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Quake 4
Gun
Saint's Row
The Outfit

and so on doing there?

Correct, about MGS, I didn't see it.

Those are published by third parties, they're the one who decide what they want or not to publish in Japan.

I was kind of expecting bigger announcments.

Perhaps MS decided to save something massive for TGS?

Frame City looks good in motion.

Frame city killer looks good in the sense of the amount of people in the game . It gives us a hint (in my opinon) of what a next gen gta can look like . Both of these games seem to need a massive amount of people , cars and buildings in them .

Anyway Re5 is whats got me relaly happy and most of these announcments kinda were eh after the re5 a few days ago

I see, so then it ended being as hodgepodge as it is because of decisions as to whether or not to publish in Japan??

But, I can't imagine MS wouldn't publish Kameo in Japan nor does it make sense that they would show gears of war at the event if Epic wasn't planning to publish it.

<scratches head> Well, it's not like it means much of anything. Still, it seems like an odd list.

Oh, and if anyone cares you can find a nice version of the Frame City Killer trailer at the link below. You'll need bit-torrent.

EDIT:: More direct link.

Because we're sure you're interested in seeing Gates address the crowd for yourself, we've uploaded a video of his speech. We'll follow this shortly with a lengthier, more pertinent speech given by Peter Moore.

disappointed

Yet again the Microsoft presentation disappoints. They wont win many japanese gamers with such a poor lineup of games. Frame City looks good but it is easy to pick out that there are pre-rendered elements combined with realtime stuff. The latter is only slightly better than current gen. MS need to show something impressive to be honest....where is the infamous PGR3...want to see this in motion.

To each his own they say, but personally, Far East of Eden, 99 Nights and RR6 make this event an excellent one.

The announcements were quite good all around, it just lacked some visuals for some game, but other than that, it's quite solid, I'd say.

A lot of media hasn't come up yet, and MS does have some impressive stuff. It's just most hasn't reached the web. Encahant Arm, RR, NNN, and few others were aired so we'll see some neat stuff in time... well, hopefully.

By the way, found out some good news. FromSoft is only publishing Enchant Arms... EdgeWorks is making the game. I don't know if anyone cares, but for me that was a big relief... most FromSoft games look good, but play like junk... knowing someone else (with experience no less) is developing it makes me feel better.

EDIT: Vysez, did they show video Tengai Makyou?!?!?! Don't get me excited, they were just announcing, right?

I don't think they showed a video. Sad, but at least we know it's coming (The game, not the video), and that's the very good news.

If the PGR3 video is real gameplay? I am in shock, for now it's CG until proven otherwise.

I think the footage was in-game, but the video was just edited to have a TV look. The footage also shows where some of those 40k interior polygons went :) Anyway the level of detail in the cars, to me, seemed on par with the screenshots we've seen so far. The Tokyo cityscape was pretty nice too.

All in all, I'm very impressed. The "spectator mode" seems superb.

I always thought it was a cultural thing... the stuff from Tecmo and Mistwalker were produced video (whether or not they were running smooth).
