Cortana for Xbox sounds awesome. So, I'm guessing Cortana is now cloud powered to do this, which means it frees up local processing and all of the people that whined about Xbox being too reliant on "online" can go f themselves. This is what we should have had from the start, if people living in the dark ages hadn't complained so much.

Wait, I am streaming games to my PC, did they mention this? Little choppy over a wired connection, guess I need to do some testing tomorrow. Now I can game while working! Hehe

Edit: Now the test streaming options gives you basic feedback, it is telling me my connection does not have enough bandwidth and I need to lower my quality in settings. I wonder if it is the crappy router the cable co. gives out, I am currently running most of my wires into it. Going to boot up the spare room and hook it up directly to another switch to see what that gives me.

I really don't like the new interface

I was really confused at first when I saw it. It has no semblance to the Xbox Win10 App or the Metro tile interface. Looks like they aborted the Snap Center. That's kinda cool since non-Kinect users never got to see the proper Snap functionality that Kinect users did. It required an extra couple of button presses to see they same simple info that Kinect users could get with just the "Xbox Snap" command. Interestingly enough they never once showed Snap mode. You can see the icon in the new quick icons on the bottom left. I did like the Cortana integration. Voice dictation could be very handy. Interesting that they are able to still provide this without the Kinect reservation. Will be interesting to see more.

Here's a sizzle real of the new interface, but nothing really new...

^ What I did not like was how everything flowed down, I do rather like the tiles now as it is rather a bit prettier. I understand why they are doing it, because they are adding the extra information. Not sure I care about all that, give me the squares back with a mypins on the end?

The side guide looks easy and awkward at the same time, looks better in games. Wonder if they will add an ability for us to snap things to corners (think like the old PIP on TV's) and even adjust the size a bit. Give me small/medium/large so I can snap Netflix up in a corner and it would be hugely better than taking up near 1/3rd of my screen while only giving me a 1" view of the video.

Edit:
Hey Cortana - my car is pushing into turn 7 with a oversteer on exit.
Ok - I adjusted your rebound and lowered your rear tire pressure by 100bar.

Hopefully they'll have a more thorough walkthrough soon. If the ui is faster, I'm sold. That's my only gripe about the current ui. Snap is too slow. Not sure why those little apps have any load time at all. Cortana integration is what I've been hoping for ever since they announced Windows 10 on Xbox.

I can understand about wanting a faster UI especially with feature creep. Same thing happened with 360, but personally I don't have a problem with slow snap or apps on the XB1. I do like the front & center activity feed/timeline in the Community tab. Getting to it now is odd & slow.

Anyhow it has nothing to do with speed, that is the least of its issues and using voice is a cop out. Its not a good solution given no one buys the Kinect bundle anymore, it might as well not exist.

"Cortana, record the last minute and share it to my activity feed.
Recorded. What would you like your message to say?
Check this out.
Share it, add more, or try again?
Share it."

Awesome.

I'm really happy, that like with the 360, the Xbox One is getting huge software overhauls during its lifetime. Microsoft did an amazing job updating the 360. So far, Xbox One is following the same path.

Edit: It's also interesting that Cortana does not replace the normal ui voice commands. I guess they're keeping the local commands for people without Internet, but Cortana is there for people that have Internet and it will enable more powerful advanced use. Probably a good decision.
