I always assumed the third display plane was for HDMI-in. But there have been suggestions games can use all three.

I has assumed that the display panes was a hardware solution to composite three display regions (screen data) overlaid 1,2,3 for output.

Is it more flexible?

Phil Spencer pre-E3, he talks about old friends, plus there will be more announcements before E3.

He says his favourite Halo game is Halo 2! That's my favourite Halo game too, maybe 'cos it was the first, but it was the one I had the most fun with and completed more times than any other in different difficulty modes.

Someone wrote this on the matter (thx Nospheratux) (-:

Phil Spencer: "Launch pre-E3 tactical nukes."

MS Employee: "Yes Sir! Sunset Overdrive, launched! Halo Collection, launched! Halo 5, launched! $399 SKU, launched! External HDD Support, launched!"

Phil Spencer: "Disable app paywall for Xbox Live Gold."

MS Employee: "Paywall down in 3, 2, 1.....Paywall deactivated!"

Phil Spencer: "Confirm that!"

MS Employee: "Loading Netflix on Xbox Live Silver membership......Netflix loaded, streaming Breaking Bad!"

Phil Spencer: "Good. Prepare the larger nukes for E3 and initialize radiation clean-up protocols. They will be required, soon."

I thought the halo collection still isn't official ? Just leaks from multiple sources including engadget

Basically. It was first rumored by the GAF leaker (I call him that cause I can never remember the arrangement of letters in his name) who has proven pretty darn reliable although not foolproof. This turning out true would just really solidify his status, because this one was pretty hard to believe. (Not the H2A part, but the Halo 1-4 collection part).

I think Engadget reporting it just means many people are taking it as essentially confirmed now due to a higher credibility site reporting it.

Rare layoffs hit as Kinect Sports Rivals flops

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-05-19-layoffs-hit-rare-following-kinect-sports-rivals-flop

I think this is a no-brainer I tried to point out to those defending Kinect. KSR was really the only high profile title for Kinect, and it could have changed the peripheral's trajectory. Instead it flopped terribly. Not a lot of people here really seemed to take note of it but I did.

I'd say at least it was another nail in Kinect's coffin.

With tomorrow being a Surface event, I wonder what Xbox news we will even get this week.

-- Story was updated, it is just that Major was going to do something and not MS. So Major on stage?

Interesting that he notes he does not know all the plans.
