Of note:

As to what that means I'm not totally sure, but it seems to imply that they want more than just "created by one developer" type indie games. Seems like they want more elaborate content this time around. I'll find out I guess, I'll register in a few days and see what happens. Worse case they say no.

That's only for devkits loans. Some time next year they will allow using retail console as a debug unit, and then one man Indies will be able to submit their games (They'd still have to be certified, though)

Kinect commands /gesture (wanted to learn those) and voice/:

Xbox one game disc dumped, for unknown reason the hacker calls it XG4 instead of XGD4.
Xbox one NAND also dumped, almost 5GB

mass panic for piracy and cheaters? currently none.

*i dont know whether i can link the news source or not.

Were gesture controls only recently enabled? Playing it since release I was wondering where they are, but only yesterday an achievement popped up with the hand symbols around it for the first time and I was wondering what on earth they were there for (now I know).

Think it was there from day one, but they added some achievements yesterday. Netflix got some as well.

Mine work fine seated, but I pretty much use voice control exclusively.

yea gestures are only if I don't have controller turned on and I just want to push a button. ;)

voice for me is nearly flawless.... oh and let me reiterate, when I say seated I mean sunk into a giant couch. :p I think Kinect has a hard time identifying me in it...if I sit up gestures work

Gestures only work well for me if I am standing, very bad if seated
I didn't even try gestures to be honest. But I am going to try tonight and see how it works. I don't have space to play standing still so I always play seated.

Seven Kinect command people should try to remember. "Xbox, Show my stuff" is one of the most interesting...

And more news, lulz

People trying to hack the machine have plenty of time to try as the console was designed to be on for 10 years or more 24 hours a day. Let's see what they come up with.

After the lessons learnt with PS3 and X360 I think it isn't an easy feat. But then I thought WiiU would be almost impossible to hack and hackers achieved that in no time but found the machine a bit lacking to be worth hacking.

Let's see how things turn out.

Back into the Xbox One's infrastructure thing, all your saves are automatically saved on the cloud, not only in your HD. Great.

You can go to a friend's house, sign in with your profile and play your games on their console from where you left the last time you played those games on your Xbox One.

What's the point of this? If they're being saved to the cloud why save them locally? If your connection is so spotty that the cloud isn't a stable backup environment, why save them there at all? And if the cloud is stable for you, why waste precious space on a HDD that you can't replace or expand on your own and that you need for the DD copies of the games themselves, rather than their save files?

I don't understand the point of redundancy in something as trivial as video game save files.

It's for all the players who have a cabin in the woods without Internet.

Dumping game data doesn't mean much when game executable will never be read directly from disc. Also, at least on the PS4, it seems there are some extra disc piracy checks which makes loading slower compared to the digital download version.

And for any game dump to be useful, you still need to hack the OS. That'll be quite a feat.

This is the case for any "cloud" game save system I've played with - be it Windows 8 Metro games or SteamCloud. Steam will save to the HD first and then in the background save to the cloud.

Bear in mind that game saves are often not at all trivial and upload speeds are usually lower than down so having it save to the HDD first is much safer and far less aggravating should something occur.

I assume for most game saves the required storage is not huge, so its not like youre losing heaps of your HD by saving it locally
