I had a dream the new Xbox turned out to be pizza. They promoted it by giving it away door to door. The special sauce was just their recipe for red.

I would prefer NOT to be spoiled now, if there are some real surprises coming I'd rather wait for them to be officially announced. But you're right, if someone posted anything legit right now, it would just get lost in the haze.

I can go either way. Especially considering I'm working when it launches. I'm still amazed we haven't heard anything legit yet.

For starts the 360 GPU is 240GFLOPS.
But anyway.
if you take the GFLOPS of the 360 (240)
Multiply buy its average efficiency (72 + 240 [ops/clock] / 2) {156/240} <65%>
So far we have 360 GFLOPS (240) and its average efficiency (65%)
So if we take the 360 GFLOPS * 8. [1920] and times that by the average efficiency [65%] we get.
1920 * .65
1248 GFLOPS.
Or GCN 12 CU @ 800hmz and 100% efficiency ~= Xenos * 8 @ 65% efficiency.

That's some creative maths right there ....

Sarcasm. Anyone can claim to know an executive at a developer who's loose about who they talk to and won't mind having their identity splashed across leaks, but when those leaks also claim 4.9 TF, more than a GTX Titan, the total lack of credibility implodes on itself creating a credibility black-hole. this rumour cannot be supported by anyone no matter what their credentials because it's bullshit.

If nobody here can safely say how the HW design looks like how can we know they are limited by 28nm constraints? If you look for 20nm news these days you see them pop up more and more.

Two days left and nothing yet ... we don't know anything . Not even a shaky photo of the controller ...
Makes you wonder a few things ...

I don't know about that. It very well may be the case that we know exactly everything about the hardware aspect (despite people holding out hope for changes), but do not have a clear picture of the software and services side of things.

But did the marketing call it Pie?

It's not the specs changes i'm talking about .... we've seen the ps4 devkit and the controller before the announcement .
Nothing here .

Where have you been during the past 4 months? ;)

I thought we saw the zebra stripped controller for the XBNext.

I thought maybe it would be called Xbox Σ or Xbox Sigma since the Σ looks like a backwards 3, but then I found this & thought maybe it's just Xbox since the sum of every number equals zero. LOL

Xbox surface

Only if it turns out to be a tablet or comes with one.

I still don't understand why you would want consoles to run VMs for games.

If you can do it with a low enough overhead, it allows the game a single consistent view of the system regardless of what the system is doing with the game.

Suspend/Resume being the obvious case, but it's equally true for reducing the resources available to a game transparently while something else is in the foreground.

An example might be if you are acting as the server in an online game, and swap to a browser mid gameplay, rather than pausing the game, you could reduce the resources available, and make the browser more responsive while it's in use. The game doesn't even know it's been shuffled to less cores, though you probably would inform it that it no longer needs to render.

I do wonder if games have to deal with device lost like events on Durango though, In a VM like world the hyper visor can probably reset the GPU. You wouldn't have the resource recreation issue you have on PC, but any incomplete frames and longer running compute jobs would have to be restarted.
