Heh its a pc / xenon game . No final xenon dev kits have been sent out to publishers . Thus this is on development kits with none final specs vs sc3 which is on a system pushed to its limits

1 is a mmorpg in which cases 100s of characters can be on scene at once , the other is a fighting game in which no more than 2 people will be on screen at once .

To compare the two is just stupid

I know it is stupid, especially if you'd be comparing both of them this gen.
I just wanted to say what it might look in the eyes of a mainstream gamer, who doesn't look at them as closely as we do.

Eh i think it would be understood they are development pics . We see pics released all the time and then a year later the game looks much better.

I think if a company released these shots claiming it was a ps3 game people would be claiming its the best thing since sliced bread .

Its a step above every single xbox , ps2 and gamecube game out there and its plain as day

Uh.. no, the actual gameplay looks almost invariably worse than the development pics. Or did you mean a year later the development renders look better than the development renders today, well that's true ;) Still the actual game very very rarely looks as good as the development pics, early or late.
If these were PS3 game shots they would be just as unimpressive, maybe even more so as generally PS3 is expected to be more powerful than xbox2 (if it will be is another matter).

development shots of games not demos are normaly not as impressive as the end result

They are normaly grabs from the dev kit like these obviosuly are .

You forgot that the game must set pretty low standards to be able to run on the obviously inferior PC-platform.

Really?? Remember Brute Force, Amped, Malice... or bacically any xbox game that you saw pics of prior to xbox launch.

Now, don't get me wrong. I do think this'll about the average of what we'll be seeing on xenon, or a little below average. Maybe it's just mainly the art that makes it look a bit boring visually.
But I believe we'll see much more impressive graphics for xenon, even on launch, and not just on DOA. It's just that this game does not impress me visually, based on these screenshots.

It is easy as well to assume what you say because sometimes not knowing what lies deep could be further from the truth.

    1. It has been stated by MS that Dev kits have been updated from the early ones.

    2. Running UE3 engine on early dev. kits would be a pain. (Given Epics specs of like 15FPS on current graphical hardware).

    Are you kid?

sc3 look like poo even with tiny screens
sc3 will be pooer when blow up on larger tv in motion with ps2 lowresy aliasing
sc3 will be pooerest when play in glory of 720p HDTV.

    compare this with gta too.

and dont blame any one if u still play on little 20" rca tv.
next gen console expectations need to be lower. sound like too many expectings way too high...

    what wrong with those games?

Not (much) with the games themselves, I asked to compare the pre-release renders with final game on your telly, for starters you can take Malice

Do you believe that these shots are from anything other than the PC version, jvd? I mean, I could be wrong, but I doubt "Webzen" is a licensed Xenon developer, with actual dev. kits - alpha or whatever.

Bunkasha (sp?) of the Wreckless fame was a licenced xbox developer, was it? Was Wreckless released at launch, or very close to it?
Bunkasha wasn't really a well known developer, and if I remember right it was also from Korea or somewhere there.

Yes, Bunkasha was a licensed dev. and Wreckless was released shortly after its (Xbox) launch.

What the hell. that's you saying that Soul Calibur 3 looks worse on 720p than on normal tv?!. Soul Calibur 2 looks nice on 720p.

Just a little thing, and i'm aware this game doesn't run on anything close to final hardware, but anyway, i thought by now today's hardware like an X800 could push out millions of polygons per frame at a high framerate. So why can i still count the polygons on the models and on.. .everything really?

Everything should be nice and smooth and rounded. All i see on those screens is nice textures and nice normal maps with decent IQ (considering they're quite low res screens)... and a total of 3 polygons making up the silohette of the chick's knee. Colour me unimpressed.
