Nebula [or anyone] can you post screenshots from the HD PSN trailer, those screens that you have posted are having waaaay to much artifacts due to bad compression.

I took some new screenshots, they should be better (slight restoration work to). I cant access PSN right now so this will be the best from here!

Err I was talking about objects and characters not being in contact with the ground..
Maybe these realtime glitches are why the release date is in 2008 ;) Kojima said what's shown in this trailer is exactly what you get in the playable game that will be demonstrated on July 24th, if the character models are really intact in game play with polys and facial expression color me impressed.

Character models look awesome, if they can fix the shadows and add a little motion blur (not overdone) and lock the framerate by release then this game will be perfect...

Should be true and it looks great as expected. It has that washed (bleached film) look at times, but hey, it's in the desert. MGS has always walked a fine line between anime absurdity and realism.

What impresses me is the improvement in animations. The ones in the last trailer were horrendous. We'll only have to wait a couple of weeks for gameplay and that is where it counts.

Oh I rewatched the Kojima part at the E3 conference,

and he said he'd show a realtime gameplay demonstration at Playstation Premiere on July 17 in Tokyo (before the MGS 20th Anniversary Party on 24th). Coincidentally the official Gran Turismo website also says new information will be released on the same day, so the next stop is at Playstation Premiere probably hosted by SCE in Japan like Playstation Meeting etc. in the past.

Everything is "floating" , WTF?

It's a work in progress. Given the track record of the team, I expect "everything" to improve by launch in 2008. Many people criticized Lair in the visual department earlier on, but Factor 5 has since corrected/refined the graphics and controls since then. I believe the same thing will happen here.

It's a little uncomfortable how much they made Vamp look like Dave Navarro.

Also note the bullet scar on his head.

since when did Raiden become immortal? I know he upgraded himself (i guess he is part robot) and those metal gears bleed when their legs get the chop (i guess their part human lol)

Raiden's not immortal, hes only become insane mo'fo. And kudos to Kojima for once again letting Phil LaMarr to voiceact Vamp!

Hm, Snake doesn't really sound very old in English.

Funnily he didnt sound as young in Japanese in previous MGS games

They are reusing the previous actors in both languages. Thats what fans wanted though. They want David Hayter's voice as Snake's.

Ah, yeah. I didn't know that. It pleases the fans I'm sure; it just doesn't seem quite as fitting to me as the Japanese voice (which sounds aged and very fitting).

Well if you happen to play the game I am sure you ll start appreciating the voice acting ;)

David Hayter was doing an awesome job with Snake's voice and personality expression. Thats why the fans loved him. So as Snake in general he is the perfect candidate. Now for someone old it probably doesnt sound as fitting as the deeper stronger Japanese voice, but I am sure this will be overshadowed by David's acting. Since the game relies on story telling in a similar fashion to a movie, I am sure David does the job well enough to make that seem insignificant. A good actor is more needed than a simply fitting voice to that of an old man's :)

Based on the sounds they make, their mannerisms, and the general theme of millitary bioengineering; I'm betting those mechs are part flesh and that is blood.

I recall Kojima subtly confirming that in an interview. The mechs actually moo, which is

I am frothing at the mouth to see gameplay (which is next week). I'm curious about how well the behind Snake view (as in Subsistence) will work and am hoping he will elaborate a bit more on the "sense" theme (especially the eye)
