I've been wanting to comment on the ground textures in this game. It seems that all textures in this game looks great head-on but suffer at an angle. The ground textures are always at angle.

Holy ...

Nice to hear about the worldwide simultaneous release too ...

Beats me as well - all MGS had surreal/supernatural things in them (which partly can be explained by gene manipulation). That makes it scary though - very scary. The thought of fighting something that's quick, can fly and is very strong and isn't just human...

:D

Maybe Psycho Mantis is back!

Kojima was interviewed today at Leipzig, he mentioned that the new boss unit is called "Beauty and the Beast". In fact they are 4 beautifull woman, who suffered greatly by the war [post traumatic stress dissorer] and all that is left from them... ...is a monster.

Kojima. King of boss battles. :)

Sh*t ! I hate fighting women. They can be really vicious. Who is the beast then ? Or is he saying every single one of them is a beauty and a beast at the same time ? Any gameplay footage ?

Here are the voice actors for those "monsters" :)

BTW these web sites have user comments that complain about surreal things in the new trailer, but what do they want for a game that has a cyborg ninja and an immortal vampire guy?
Its got worse each iteration tough.
I mean the first one had a few bosses with exaggerated strength or psychic powers, the second added a frigging Vampire. The third turned into a pure freak-show including hilarous cheesy battles where the enemy repeadly screams its own name, grows bees in its belly or is an undead jelly mass.

I would just not care for MGS4, if it werent for the great first 2 games. Theres that glimmer of hope thats very likely bound to end up in gross dissapointment when the game comes out  .

Where did you get these information ? :)

Lyndall and Yum are cute.

I am guessing...
Scarlett is the octopus.
Yumi is the flying thing.
Mieko is the crying wolf
Lyndall is the mantis.

Come one, most of them expected a different game :) Not everyone is loyal to the serie and MGS might seem a - just as valid - Splinter Cell epigone to them, or something like that. When I played MGS for the first time, Psycho Mantis caught me by surprise.

Given some clues in the pics, I'd say here.

I'm still wondering where does the woman fit in the wolf gear. I mean, the feminine silouette is obvious, but proportions are off, unless she's over 2 meters tall.

I love creativity and surrealism. Unlike some games following a stereotypical and cliche' trend.

For me Metal Gear Solid was more like a novel filled with all kinds of messages. Some times it tried to pass them through creative surrealism, others with references to the real world or other novels.

Its a unique and spectacular creation as a videogame

A magazine spoiled the surprise for me. So by the time I played against Mantis, I already knew his trick. :(

They may not need to fit inside. May be just the brain and spinal cord, or a disfigured body, or the personality. *Argh*

If you were referring to weaksauce's thread, patsu, then kudos. ;) Amazingly relevant :D

True..

The story telling in the games reminds me ALOT of the two Ghost in the shell movies..

Brain and spinal cord as in Ghost in the Shell or personality/soul as in Evangelion it is too much even for Kojima & Shinkawa, I guess.
A mutilated or disfigured body makes a lot of sense, though.

The hi-res (100 MB, not HD) version of the new trailer is available on gametrailers.
