New DMC4 Details from Kobayashi

I've only played DMC1 and IMO it's still one of my favorite games this generation. Never played DMC2 thought, because I heard it was bad.

Any suggestions if I should try DMC3 (or even DMC2)? They should be platinum now (US: Greatest hits) and this might warm me up for part 4 if they're any good....

damn, seems like I missed out on quite an amazing game (read the DMC3 review). Should I go for the normal DMC3 or for the special edition one - though I don't think DMC3:SE is out yet?

DMC3 is not "that" hard, it's just that the save system makes it a lot less forgiving.

When you lose against a boss, which happen quite a few times when you play the game for the first time, you're forced to reply all the level... Old School style, in other words.

If they added a simple save point before the Boss of each level, it would had alleviate most of the critics about the game's difficulty.

The SE is out on Jan 24. I'd wait for it.

Hmm.. might as well in that case. Is that the European release date or the one for NA? If it's the same price as the platinum, I'll go for that one instead (Strangely though VF4: Evo was ment to be a greatest-hits title as well, yet in Europe, we had to pay full price for it! :devilish: )

DMC must be played on Dante must die difficulty.

Kobayashi says that he can't comment on PS3's maximum graphical potential, but says that the lowest minimum bar on how DMC4 looks in real-time is that of the TGS trailer.
This is good news!

Well I'll beleive it when I see it. Although the character looks good in that DMC4 trailer the backgrounds have some low res texturing. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if they can get away with snapping between animations as they did on the PS2 without people noticing.

You should play the japanese version then. It works exactly like that and you can go into options and set it to "english" so the text won't be a problem.
It's a great game and I really liked it so I can gladly recommend it to other people. Devil May Cry 2 on the other hand... stay away from that one, it wasn't fun at all.

The only thing I want in DMC4 is unlimited speed of the pistols, I don't like it when I can press the buttons faster than they can fire :D

DMC3 on easy is harder than Ninja Gaiden on Hard, and the higher modes are comparable to anything in the Hurricane Packs/NGB.

(if I recall, there is a mode where you die if you are hit once, no matter how inconsequential - you can't block either... mostly [there is a style that allows you to, can't normallly])

Which is one reason I love it so much.

I love the series.Hated DMC2 though.I hated it so much that I gave it to a friend FOR FREE.

But I LOOOOVE DMC1 and DMC3.

Anyone know where I can get the TGS trailer??

Im sorry but I dont see how DMC3 Is hard

Maybe having trouble with DMD level bosses and maybe the Chessboard on Lv18 when they are all DT'd can be annoying, but other than that.

My Gamestop didnt have DMC:SE in the system, I hope they have it on the 24th otherwise im just gonna have to keep waiting :(

I never said it was objectively "HARD."

I said it is more difficult than Ninja Gaiden (which many find difficult/frustrating), which is an absolute cakewalk.

I'll just say that objectively speaking, comparing DMC3 with recent games, it is definitely way too hard for its own good.

When DMC4 comes out, there better be a super easy mode so I can see more of the game than the first level.

Ninja Gaiden was perfect difficulty.
