My incredibly wrong theory on what the "revolution&quot

what if its some type of VR thing. ( I know that sounds very 90's) There have been incredible advances in 3d technology for cinema. What if its gonna deliver on the promise of the Virtual Boy. Many of their patents have been about displaying graphics differently. Maybe its to eliminate strain.

A cheap VR visor with a cheap haptics based controller sounds revolutionary to me. Sign me up!

VR would be a godsend, plain and simple.

well i dunno about vr its not just about the viser . YOu need a system to put you into it , a controler will feel out of place . Though i guess a really nice visor with a high res lcd to put out hdtv images would't be back. but you'd need a way to drive 4 of those ... ouch

That's where an innovative controller not reliant on traditional buttons and sticks comes in.

a 3d visor with a haptics based controller will put you into the game like nothing you've ever experienced before. maybe the new Crack.

New Polarized 3D is quite cheap. Haptic controllers are suppose to go onsale next year for under $100. Its already been stated Revolution also isnt going to have the very high end CPU and GPU either, but something comparable and cheaper.

I think it's a cool idea but too expensive for this generation. OTOH using a DS or Evolution as controllers with built-in screen and touch capability would be really cool. I heard that ATI is working with Nintendo on the Revoution controller so it might have some sort of video chip built into the controller for receiving video data from Revolution and rendering it independently. This also ties in with the FREE internet gaming service so maybe you can even play Revolution games using these wireless controllers with integrated displays with other people using DSs or Evolutions.

What do you mean too expensive ? controller size LCD and touch panel tech is cheap now.

I agree, there's so many comments about what Nintendo is and isn't willing to spend on hardware. Majority of the time, the comments lack merit. Just think of what could be accomplished on the Flipper, if ATI had purchased ArtX early into the chips development.

I doubt a Tablet large enough for adult sized hands, with a resolution good enough to display nice looking video, containing gyroscopic chips and rumble devices would be less than 50 bucks, which would be critical, since I doubt most people would pay over 50 dollars on a controller.

Think about what could have been developed if Nintendo was willing to sell gamecube for $300(and maybe take a loss) and have the GPU at 200mhz and give it more memory?

BTW, how about a visor overlay for revolution? Think like the xbox live communicator, but with a small screen(like that old tiger handheld vr thing) that displayed simple overlay graphics that went over one eye. It would still allow you to see the screen, but could display additional information, bingo, nintendo's dual screen connectivity dream successfully realized.

I guess from a sony fan in regards to internet this is to be expected. The standard next gen will be wifi because nintendo will set that standard . If the ps3 doesn't have it then its an area where it falls short.

You mischaracterize me. I would not consider myself a Sony fan... so far on this forum I have been characterized as an xbox fan boy, a segaphile (now thats true!) and now a Sony fan. I just like the PSP because it gives me everything I have been looking for in a console/handheld. Just to add background, I had a PS1 and Saturn and played my Saturn more. I used my PS1 as a Dreamcast trade-in and I never bought a PS2. i still have my saturn and Dreamcast and i own no sony consoles except for PSP. I also own a SNES and a GCN and love em. Of course not because sony didn't announce it , if sony anounces wifi for ps3 then you will be claiming its the best thing since slice bread and put down the systems that don't have it . I don't know about u but i perfer as little wires as possible . I perfer being able to play in my living room , then move my system to my room and not have to worry about wiring all othese other rooms

Why is this so hard jvd? Yes the rev should be wireless and thats great... and thats easier... but that doesnt mean making any other next gen console wireless, is either difficult or costly.

The real draw in nintendo gaming next generation is not wireless, but rather free worldwide gaming. If QC is high with their servers, and the right games are there... it could bring down Xbox Live.

Uh cheap to include with a $200+ console? If that were the case you'd see LCDs on controllers bundled with consoles for next generation which you won't.

No its not, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near that price, I think 70-80 dollars is closer to what you'd expect to pay.
