blame me? blame sony..
ok i have to put away everything back in the box and will try to make some time to replace the ps3 and cables etc tomorow.. before my 2year old starts to play drums on it

nevermind . i got the info..
bUT BUT BUT ... looks like people outside japan cant register themselves. i received a page where i have to put visa card information etc on it .. so thats going to be difficult now.
so looks like PSN is regionlocked.... (or if somebody knows more, please share)
btw: Final Fantasy VII PAL does not work

I think you're going to need to wait for the 17th, when the North American servers come online. I would suspect that only then will you be able to select a different region for your online account. However, please note that that statement is nothing but speculation on my part. I have absolutely no verifiable information to back that up.
Can you test the DVD upscaling?
I'm confused because some say it doesn't upscale DVD's to 720p and/or 1080p.
But in initial setup you must configure the PS3 to output 576i/p, 720p or 1080i/p.
If I set it to output through HDMI at 720p, will it still output DVD's and PSOne/PS2 games at 576i or 576p, but Blöu-ray movies and games at 720p???

Hey, I saw a PS3 in Wal Mart today! Does that count!
It was running NBA Live 07 but the controller was apparantly broken/nonresponsive.
NBA 07 is definitly not up to 2k7 graphically, but the game did look..somehow more pristine than the usual next gen title. I'm guessing due to 1080P..it was a smaller LCD maybe 23" but it was a Sony so I assume it was a 1080P display.

Live was canceled (for good reason) so most likely NBA 07.
I cant wait to see what nba 2k7 looks like @ 1080p.
Blast Factor, and yeah from what I'm hearing the demo is very short.

Played the Motorstorm demo last night! Awesome game! Controlling the vehicles with the tilt is very difficult but fun. Every vehicle was playable and each feel very different....actually won a couple of races!
Played a half of NBA 07, nice game, not much I can more to say.
Getting to see the PS3 up and running has boosted my confidence in the system. I do believe now(and I had my doubts)it is a very powerful beast! Just gonna need some quality dev teams to get the most out of it.

so overall the graphics are much better than the most modern nvidia and ati videocard?
