Motorstorm screens

Not saying I believe this 1080p stuff, but that demo came out 2 months ago, with almost another 2 months until the game is out. I wouldnt call it 'almost final build'.

Um....

the game is already out in japan isn't it?

(that's an rhetorical question, i know its out in japan)

I find difficult to believe that a 30 fps 720p game suddenly runs at 1080p 60 fps..

I don't kno about res but I spen't the better part of my weekend here in the office playing on the japanese version of Motorstorm..

From first impressions I was immediately struck by how smooth the game actually runs.. I *really* don't think this game runs as low as 30 fps from what i've seen..

And if it's not 60fps it's bloody close.. :D

Who cares. The Japanese version runs well at 30fps/720p even with a ton of particle effects going on, I don't know why this is even an issue when having fully-featured multiplayer online and tweaking the festival mode should be the priority for the title.

Sixty framerates per second?!

I'm really having a hard time believing that. Of course I would love to be wrong.

I was referring to this video where the girl is speaking about motorstorm.

Man, I was all excited until I saw that video. There is no way that woman even knows what 1080p is. She just got her talking points confused.

Edit: Now, the other video will that dude rattling off a prepared speech might have some potential of being correct. I'm sure that speech was carefully prepared and proof read. They would have caught a mistake like that.

Seems like it's the same. 720p @ 30fps. Incorrect info he says.

I thought 720p/30fps was confirmed a long time ago. With a particle system that likely pushes on the fillrate I have a hard time seeing how they would double the resolution as well as the framerate (4x fillrate hit) at the end of development. Evolution seems pretty technically savvy so I have a hard time believing they had a target and then found significant amounts of untapped resources.

It is either 60fps or 30fps. Motion blur on a racing game can give a greater sense of speed and fluidity than really present. This is why CMR: DIRT is aiming for 30fps. They get get more detail, dirt, etc on screen and specifically noted PGR3 as why they made the 30fps decision as a 'compromise'. History tells us a lot of people cannot identify the difference (although people who can are driven nuts at 30fps).

Does God of War on the PS2 run at 60fps?

If so then I'm sure I can tell the difference more often than not.. (at least i think.. :???: )

What?

God of War runs sub 30fps, with quite a few framerate issues at some points in the game.

I cant belive you thought GoW is 60fps.. Let me guess, youve never played a pc game, or had good PC hardware?
God of war had bad framerate? News to me. It was pretty smooth when I played it. 30FPS solid I'd say.

What did they say about PGR3?

For the most part it was pretty good, but the interior action (note: the interiot with the shiny floors that acted as a mirror ) had alot of stuttering and big framerate drops.
