Motorstorm screens

You SOB! I thought you meant there was a multiplayer demo out on the PSN D: I already have the PSN demo, thats what the pictures are from XP

Normally you would get a penalty for crashing. Now, when you crash, you get this penalty but instead of a count-down, you get a nice crash ... I know what I'd prefer!*

*And no, it's not being able to continue driving immediately after a crash. ;)

IMO they should "borrow" the mechanic of the Burnout series. It was really clever actually. See, they make it so crashing can be of value if you slow down to takedown your opponents, but it has the added value that while you're doing that you also get to enjoy the pretty crashes and they don't get boring nearly as fast. And if you do get bored, just don't press the slowdown button, win, win.

Played the demo of this in EB. Must say not impressed. Or more truthfully, not as impressed as the videos. The motorcycle rider has like, black lines drawn around him. Something about the motorcycle rider seems like a 2D object pasted on a 3D background, with little to no animation. There are aliasing issues present as well. The texture quality overall seemed somewhat poor. The music on that demo track is rather grating (I'd heard it on videos a few times already). I did not notice the gameplay seeming slow has been stated though. It seemed to play reasonably fast.

That said, it's a pretty, colorful game. Perhaps the full game, and playing with different vehicles, may look much better.

Jesus man do you guys not read? The demo in stores inferior to the demo on the Playstation store today. Every single person has stated this that has played it. Now why can't they update the demo? I don't know supposely Sony shipped every store a network ready PS3. I wish Sony could tell the stores to download the newer build so people can stop these "I wasn't impressed maybe the final game will look better" stories.

No offense to you or anything.

Have played the heck out of the downloadable demo..more than anything else on my PS3 thusfar. Which probably says all you need to know, but some particular notes:

- it looks gorgeous (obviously)
- it is FAST. Too fast in some ways when you over-do the nitrous at the wrong times on a bike and go sailing over a cliff ;)
- the sense of presence and 'being there' is really excellent, particularly with the truck's first person camera
- the better you play, the better the game is. When I first played it, I was lagging behind in races - and thus, quite crucially, missing out on 'the action' happening further up the field. It's after some time, when you drive better and are jostling for higher positions that things become quite..thrilling, and where a sense of urgency develops, and crashes and crash recovery becomes critical. (In that sense, I'm not sure how good of a demonstrator it is for someone picking up the game in a store for just a few minutes).
- taking out someone mid-air on the bike is quite satisfying. Also timing an explosion across the finish line, which i finally managed to perfect :p

I've won both events now in the demo, but it's still fun to go back and replay..different stuff happens all the time, none of the races are the same. But I'm definitely ready for bigger challenges in the full game.

As I recall, the motorcycle rider changes his/her posture when the bike accelerates, brakes, skids or jumps. Riders who drive by have more action too. They also animate really well during crashes and explosions. Did you also try the first person view ?

I have watched about 9 people play the game now. They are all happy with it. But if there's a better demo, they should just use the new one. It seems that people can pick out flaws easily (I must have a low graphics standard :) ).

Love the shot with the cars flying from the cliff. It has the advantage of cinema camera viewpoint but it looks pretty damn sweet.

Motorstorm, first 10 minutes.

The problem with this demo is that the vehicles took some time to load really but I bet that is finished in the final game.

Now that being said, needless to say, this game looks like it will be the most addicting online game EVER! So awesome.

Awesome music in this game aswell.

Did you not read? Even the Playstation Store demo is nothing to write home about:

Really? Because I downloaded the demo from the Playstation Store and I found it to be highly underwelming. Low resolution ground textures, low res/low quality shadowing (kinda flaky looking), poor sense of speed, the sky actually bands...etc etc.

AND I CAN'T SEEM TO WIN! (to make it even more challenging try it with motion sensing enabled...omg that was hard, lol) :devilish:

Naw, it's not THAT bad...it's just not that good...and certainly not as good as many people were led to believe.

;)

Wow Clockwork really have high taste in graphics.

Weaksauce's image reminds me of a question: Does MotorStorm support head turning ? as in while you drive the vehicle, can you turn SIXAXIS and look to your left and right ?
