Motorstorm screens

Does anyone know if there are any more tracks than what's shown in every screen shot or picture. All I've seen is the desert track. Are there any more varied areas?

The entire game is set in the desert, so only expect to see desert based tracks. MotorStorm 2 ( if there will be one ) might be set in a different location.

But there are different kinds of desert. High, Low, Dry. There could still be many variations. Look slike every level is the same though.

I live in Phoenix, AZ we wish we had enough rain for it to get muddy 4 wheeling, hehe.

The premise of the game is about a race war in the desert of Monument Valley.

I think the main difference between the tracks will be the shortcuts (high ground, low ground) and the order of terrain at the time. Some tracks will be very muddy, some tracks will be dry dirt. Requiring different routes for different vehicles.

It also seems like some shortcuts can be made with physics in mind. For example in one video a buggy found a short cut by driving through a sign and making it bust into peices, the next lap the player should be able to go through that short cut much easier. Or if the debree falls in right way, the path could be blocked. And that could apply to the wooden house, or dinosaur skeleton I've seen in images; I'm sure there are others.

So from face value, it may seem like all the tracks are the same because its all orange dirt from first glance, but after playing through the game... I could actually see each track having to use completely different strategies.

This game definately looks like a blast, the physics look great to me, powersliding looks like fun and I think they nailed the arcade/sim balance very well for a game like this. Maybe a little floaty, but no big deal. The accidents look great as well.

This game is looking like the star of the PS3 launch, much more impressive than Resistance for me, I'm not sure what kind of replay value it will have, but the MP should be great.

All of the videos I've watched indicate that this will be a beautiful game graphically and fun game overall. The track deformations and the explosions are top notch but I worry about the controls, more specifically the feel of bouncing and plowing through the enviroments. The point may be mute but man would rumble have helped with the feel. In the end I hope that they will nail down the controls. It will be a good indicator of siaxis potenial as steering wheel.

BTW: Has anyone heard of retaining rumble in next-gen games when using either dual-shock2 or a third party?

Logitech's Force Feedback wheels should still have the whole range of feedback you'd expect, if they're supported (I'm assuming they will be). That'll definitely be the best thing for racing games anyway. For me, no great loss. I recently picked up a second DF Pro for 50 euro.

I don't even get your point here???

Hey Phil I should tell you that the devs were talking about making a track that was built around a volcano with Lava at certain places going around the track or something.

I think tracks like these will be released after the game is released for free download or micropayments.

Ditto, if they nailed a steep learning/skill curve online should make this a game that lasts a looong time. This should be on every PS3 owners launch list IMO.
