Motorstorm 2

....and so..since I live in EU and use a US PSN account, I cant use any add-ons I buy from the US PSN, thus I wont be able to use any for Motorstorm 2 either.

There fixed :p

Why not live in the EU and have an EU account like normal people?

ps. Motorstorm 2 looks hot.

pps. Why not just import Motorstorm2 from the US and then buy the US add-ons? Crisis avoided.

Well I live in EU. I have a UK EU account as well but I am not from UK. I can not buy anything from a EU store because my country is not supported. But there is a US account exploit which enables me to buy from it with my credit card.

Importing Motorstorm 2 from US means that I will only be able to compete with US players online. Which makes the online experience very painful due to lag since I am located in EU and they are located far away

Do we know Motorstorm 2 online is region locked? I dont think MS was...

The online is, the actual game is not. I only get Europe and Australia online (PAL regions)

But we don't know if MS2 is. I have an import of Warhawk...and Resistance 2, COD4 etc etc...are all region free online. The only game I know of that's region locked online is MGO.

Sorry for taking the thread Off-Topic, but just one question:
I am not sure about this, but the only time they check the address is when you register your PSN account I think.

The billing address is completely separate and not checked other than to confirm you as the actual cardholder.
Exactly,so I enter the address but since the country is locked my address turns out as always incorrect. Can't we use a Credit Card from outside the country that the store is for?

Can you apprise me with that? Please PM me.

Im pretty sure all you need is the cc number and 3 security numbers + expiration date, the adress can be fake i recon.
It shouldn't be in the EU. AFAIK Card checks (Card Not Present transactions) require all the details. If the PAL PSN store doesn't check those, I think they're being naughty! Seems in the US they're not so strict, which is why EU cards are able to buy NA content.

I think Nesh is just using his card with a phony US address and the US card checks don't care about the address matching the card details.

Yep. A phony US address that is recognized as real.

Someone told me about it from here. Cant remember who.
This is the address. I tried to find something similar with the UK PSN but I think it is not as simple

Beverly Hills
LA
California
Postal Code: 90210

Hmmm..Thanks;). I will try it and see.

I don't think the address even needs to match the ZIP code. I think I put in any random thing and used 90210 and it worked. Though I haven't bought anything on a card though, which might well require a valid address even if it doesn't match the card address.

Putting a random address is enough to create a US PSN account. To be able to buy something though the address has to be recognized as real, but not necessarily be the same as the address of the credit card holder.

US Store recognise IP addresses, if you`re from EU you are not able buy stuff from movie/video part of store but gaming part works just fine.

US Playstation Store is cheap compared to UK, not to mention our local (Czech) PS Store, where prices are ridiculously high compared to UK Store (with same content even same english description).
Don`t know who making these prices but they don`t match actual exchange rate, maybe before 10 years, but not now.

PAL stores are ALL region locked and for buying you need to have a credit card issued in the same country... for example i am from italy but i imported COD4 from UK...well i cant download map pack from that store because my card doesnt match with the store country...same with AUS store

US and JAP store are free to purchase GAMES from anywhere worldwide. The reason is simple, SCEA and SCEI dont match the credit card datas with the store localisation...so you can use any credit/debit/prepaid card, even virtual card like entropay.

IIRC For online gaming, such as MS, the region lock is based on your IP address and not by the game code. I mean if you are in EU and import the game from US you are just able to play with european friends bec your machine is located in europe.

Not true.

My ip address says im in norway and i often get matched with americans (cod4), even sometimes brazilians in fifa.

I also have US friends that i play with alot. Dont really think there is any region lock, match making scripts probably try to region lock as often as they can (as the benefit is obvious), but there is no region lock for gaming.

true for all region free gaming (cod4) but not every game is region free (IIRC mgs4 and MS are an example). Here the concernings are related to MS2 and the possible regional lock; Though if there would be one, IIRC i should import the game (and successive DLC) from US and play with my european buddies.

Yes Motorstorm is not region free when it comes to online gaming, I bought the US version of the game and I connect to US servers online, even tough I connect from Norway.

What I did find funny was that Ratchet & Clank Quest for Booty, the logo in the game is in Japanese, probably because my PS3 is imported from Japan :)
