Monthly Presidential Debates? YEAY!!!!!

It looks like John Kerry is getting ready to challenge President Bush to a series of monthly debates between now and the election sometime today or tomorrow, which I think is a GREAT idea!

Anyone else think it sounds like a bit of a hoot and a pretty good way to get an idea of what candidates are like and where they stand? Not to mention how much fun it'll be for all the political pundits!

The only problem is, I don't think Bush will go for it. He has too much to lose, people might find out what he's like and what he's for.

Monthly debate sounds damn good to me. If I were a gambler I'd bet the farm Bush won't go for it.

Actually this is always a ploy by the challenger, to get attention. I hope bush does do the monthly debates. On the plus side, if each individual debate is long enough, we will see kerry switch position at least 4 or 5 times.

And we'll get to hear Bush butcher the pronunciation of simple words. Hopefully we'll also get to hear him label Kerry as a Washington insider; you know how those Washington folk are crafty, we simple country bumpkins gotta' keep both eyes on 'em.

speaking of the Washington Insider thing, I was watching Bill Maher's HBO show last ngiht and he had an interesting opinion about that. He thinks both Kerry and Bush are portraying themselves as something other than what they are. He said that Bush was a Washington Insider simply because he's the pres and he said that Kerry wasn't any better, in that regard. Unless my memory isn't off, lol.

as a side note, edwards called kerry to weekly debates leading up to super tuesday. Kerry couldnt be bothered for these 4 debates. See you give kerry enough time and he'll flip-flop on an issue.
