Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

Btw I got the collector's edition of the game and all I have to say is F*CK YOU KONAMI.

When they informed the stores about the pricing of the collector's edition they said 99 euros recommended price. Then they sent another notification on top to correct the price to 150 euros claiming the initial was an error.

Well after receiving the package I must say that the 99 price sounded more normal because the package was small, the hand is a half sized replica (not full scale) of Snake's hand and its made out of cheap plastic. The photos gave the impression that it was made out of better quality parts. For comparison Arkham Knight had more content, the package was 4 times bigger and that was 120 euros

Good I didn't go for it.....I dropped the idea the moment they said that the hand would be half size outside of Japan.
Full size or no buy ...aha !

My copy is shipped but I doubt I will get it today. Wi be playing GZ again till it arrives, I guess :-/

Well, I had a lot of problems with the pre-order. I pre-ordered the game 3 weeks ago for CHF 84 (basically 84 Euros), but the last two days have been receiving mails from my psn account telling me that the pre-order was cancelled because they couldn't charge my creditcard (which is perfectly valid). I then pre-ordered it again last night which then enabled me to download the game, but again, I got a strange message telling me that the pre-order was cancelled again. Great.

This morning, now being the 1st of September, I check the PSN online store again and I had to purchase the game, that now costs 69 CHF (~69 Euros) so that I can play the game. I really hope my creditcard has not been billed multiple times (I was actually able to fill up my PSN account perfectly, it's just the pre-ordering mechanism doesn't seem to work when charging the creditcard directly).

What baffles me a bit is that the game has gotten cheaper since it launched. Is it normal that pre-orders are more expensive? I thought it surely must be the other way around, especially since with digital downloads, the concept of pre-order doesn't really make all that more sense, especially when the stupid mechanism doesn't even work correctly... Anyone else with similar experiences?

Yeah, this is super strange?!? I never checked to be honest when I pre ordered a game how much it costs at launch. But the first price of 84 Euros is super expensive right from the start! Is this the normal price for a game in Switzerland? Because for me it typically costs 69 Euros.

I think the prices are slightly inflated in Switzerland (we have a strong buying power) - so everything is typically more expensive, so the momentary exchange rate of CHF -> EUR of 1:1 - 1.1:1 doesn't quite hold true. I'm sure some posters here could comment on what the exact Euro price is in Germany, but I would guess that it's slightly less than what we pay here. The 69-89 CHF price is quite alright though (IMO) - it's been like this for as long as I can remember. In fact, 69 is quite cheap - I think most new releases are 84 CHF, Activision games even tend to be a bit pricier.

I'm just really baffled by the pre-order being more expensive, and at quite a difference too. Unless I oversaw something and the pre-order had some bonus content that the retail package lacks?

Anyway, gonna fire up MGSV tonight! Can't wait! :)

Why does the X1 version have this weird artifacting?

MB is applied to anything that moves regardless of speed nowadays.
I wouldn't be surprised if snails and tortoises have motion blur in MGSV.
As it should be.
If something moves half a pixel within a frame the MB with 180 degree shutter would have length of quarter of pixel, plenty to be visible on screen.

Heh I love it how a small Mediterranean island finds its way in big budget projects in one way or another. :)
It is where Hideo Kojima was planning to make a very special event for the game but was canceled due to his departure

I sympathise with all of the virtual animals in this game with you twisted bunch of freaks playing it!

You're only jealous because we have it and you don't

I've listened to a few gaming podcasts and, naturally, they're all talking about MGSV. Controls aside, and I will give Ground Zeroes another try, it's a game type that hugely appeals. And now the story telling insanity has been paired back, I may spring for it.

Now 'fess up, how many animals have you floated?
