I hear you! To have a traditionally strong story focused MGS game water down on its bread and butter, is rather disappointing especially coming after the masterfully directed MGS4. I was hoping this new gen would tune up the story cutscenes to eleven and then some, looks like the open world rush has really taken over. I personally don't have problems for an open world game as long as it looks beautiful and pushes techs to the edge, unfortunately TPP doesn't offer that. Yes, there's ample gameplay but I guess that along is not quote enough for me.Am I the only one that is disappointed that the story is trimmed down? MGS4 was crazy...but this is exactly what I liked about it. So I am quite shocked to hear the actual reviews.
Gameplay seems to be great. Gameplay seems to be super varied an all. But without a proper motivation and connection by a story line one could follow...it seems to me that this is just a sandbox with some missions to play around a bit. Similar experience as playing an online horde type multiplayer game. And for me personally this is very negative, although I can see how people are super excited because of all the gameplay possibilities.
I think I have to wait and see...maybe the hype train grabs me as well and I still buy it?!?!? But right now...probably not.
