I bought Mosin twice, but couldn't see why you like it so much. The damage is not as great as SVD and DSR-1. :(

Yap ! I noticed that too. He took a different path no my second playthrough (I completed my second round, was able to defeat Liquid Ocelot without dying ;-) )

Damage? It's a tranquilizer sniper. There are only two tranq guns - the MK and the Moisin. For non-killing sprees it's essential. One shot to the head and they are asleep. One shot anywhere on the body and they asleep within 10 seconds.

And why would you buy it twice? lol...once is enough for however many times you want to play through the game.

 No wonder I had such a hard time trying to reduce Crying Wolf's life bar. I tried to use it against the Gekkos too ^_^
On my second playthrough, I went up the 2 towers to snipe her as opposed to hiding under the tank

Ha ! Because I played twice.

Uh...I'm playing twice too...all your weapos carry over from your previous play. And I used the Moisin to put Wolfy to sleep as well...in addition to all the Frogs (make sure to watch them so you can put them to sleep again). Not killing anyone is fun...and will get you many rewards.

they do? how come mine didn't when i went from easy to solid normal? :???:
i was hoping they would carry over.

edit: oh, you get them back when you get the mkII. i guess i didn't realize i had my weapons back.

Indeed :D which is annoying, because I want to hold up that guy above the statue like Kojima did in his demo video. And how come I can't move the camera around when I'm the statue like Kojima did?

ps. be the statue three times and you'll break off it's...well you can imagine.

I think the first time I might have died shortly after purchasing Mosin.

Oh, if it's a tranq gun, I'm not gonna spend money on it. I do my best to sneak around but if I get exposed, it's on like Donkey Kong!

Thanks for the warning about the reflex site not being like the CoD4 M4 and giving me more visibility. I'll just unlock some of the ID guns for cheap and see how that goes.

Renegade, You do know that MGS4 is rendered at 1024x768 right?

I know, I just wanted to see if 768 instead of 720 makes any difference.

Also, can u tell me that if my TV's res is 1336X768 max, then when it says 1080p,it inputs 1080p an downscales it? So, in the end it will be 720p only, right? So, what's the diference?:???:

The game is rendered at 1024x768, is scaled to (x) for output from the PS3, then scaled again to 1336x768 for display by your TV.

(x) can be either 1920x1080 or 1280x720 depending on the options selected in the XMB.

I've just scaled a 1024x768 test pattern both ways (via 1080p and 720p), and the 1080p route results in a much clearer picture, especially for fine details. Of course this depends on the quality of the scalers used as well, but for this particular combination of scales the 1080p route is noticably better.

Via 1080p:

Via 720p:

These samples are not perfect but they illustrate the point. Check out the artifacts produced in the fine detail, and the vertical stepping on the curves due to the drop to 720p and back in the 720p version.

So, having the 2K output from the ps3 does make a difference.Thanx for confirming as I was noticing that text, websites, etc appeared sharper when downscaled by my TV from 2K to 1K, but since the end resolution is the same, I was guessing maybe the end result should be the same.

So, that means I was right about seeing jaggies in 720p....maybe coz I didn't try the same scene in 1080p.Also, it was after the boss battle , and the girl was in front of that white BG, so, maybe aliasing became more visible due the white BG. I will try the same scene in 1080p this weekend to see if the aliasing is less at 1080p downscaled to 1336X768.

I noticed that I have upper and lower black boards on my screen. MGS4 is probably the only game that has them for some weird reason. Any ideas why?

I think you can adjust the screen to fit your TV in the options?

I tried but it only allows me to zoom in. If I do that to cover the upper and lower black boarders a large portion of the right and left sections of the screen will be hidden.

Hm... that can't be right. The only time something like this happened to me was because I didn't press the right button (to buy the component); or I bought the component for a different gun.

I figured it out, the laser site mounts on the side of the gun and I was assuming the top where the other scope went. BTW I love the various guns, right now the M60 is my buddy.

Is there sneaking in this game? :devilish:

I've sneaked through the entire game...and I'm not particularly good at stealth games. You can do whatever you like - it's your choice. If you want to sneak - do it. It's clear that sneaking is the best option - is there any other game that brings up a red countdown, flashing lights, and dramatic music when you're spotted by the enemy?
