Kojima leaves Konami to start new Studio *Confirmed*

Fresh in terms of gameplay, yes. In terms of story, it carries all the same crazy convoluted narrative baggage from the previous games.
Along with the convoluted elements the plot and real world references had something special which I doubt would be replicable by another team. If the other team doesnt get it we will see similar results as the shallow Silent Hill games we got from teams other than Team Silent

Or maybe he just smelled really bad and had horrible habits, like farting non stop, picking his nose and ears and throwig bogies at his team mates?

We will never know the truth.

Silent Hills was cancelled, according to Guillermo del Toro.

I guess the explains the retraction of P.T. from the store - the game isn't happening and there's no point in a 'trailer' for it. Which makes great sense seeing as the buzz and enthusiasm already generated probing the value of the game and reducing risk massively.

Hopefully users who "purchased" the demo will be able to re-download it later from PSN. If they totally remove it, that would be very sad.

PT is a true masterpiece of horror, and it deserves to remains online at least in some way.

These are some of the most disappointing news I have ever heard. Its like a bad dream, and it makes me hope Kojima is trolling us only to reveal it was all a joke at E3

I wonder if the cancellation of Silent Hills is part of Kojima's reason to leave? Maybe Konami pulled the rug from under him and he realised there's no point in staying and asked to leave (maybe violently with a big sword). At which point the honour of the company was offended and they stripped him from the corporate history?

We don't know if the Silent Hills is canceled. All we know is that collaboration between DelToro and Kojima will not happen [and Norman Reedus tweeted knowing only that report from DelToro].

the version described that everyone's been looking forwards to involved Kojima, Del Toro and Reedus. None of them are working on it. There might be another Silent Hill, but it isn't this one.

Got a chuckle out of this

Maybe they are selling the IPs.

Firing producers, terminating co-production contracts, and cancelling games, could be simply to release all shackles that remains on these IPs?

In a brief statement, Konami said development on the game had ceased.

"Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic 'Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued," Konami said.

Earlier today Konami said it would continue to develop games in the Silent Hill series.
I suppose that could include selling or licensing the IP though.

Rockstar presents Silent Theft Auto. An open world horror survival take on the genre, set in the fictional city of Los Diablos, where creepy monsters roam the streets next to gang violence, strippers and meth heads.

Voluntary SEC delisting will also be effective on June 12... which is the day before the E3 press conferences. :runaway:

I'm trying really hard to see this as just a coincidence and that no acquisitions of any form will be announced at E3. Yes. No. Maybe.

I wonder what the angle is, does being no longer traded in the US, and out of the SEC, makes them a 100% outside entities, and could be bought by a US company using only foreign cash?

EDIT: Ha! Nothing to see here, the nyse delisting was just the slots division. Ouf.
