How much money is being spent on PS3 games...

XBox360 games cost 70€ around here, 60€ for MS funded games (such as Perfect Dark Zero & Kameo).

That is the price that XB(1) games used to cost, XB360 are 65-75€ and or economics are much worse than yours, so it is hard being a gamer here (I think that this is one of the reasons why so many people still playing more on the PC, as most PC games are ~50€ at launch, and then it drops relatively fast) anyway I am already starting to get used to wait for the classic version in most of the cases (as many others I think but there is also many that just had stop playing (at least as much as they used)).

I wonder if they will keep this prices?

BTW here is here ,Titanio? That is a hugh price to pay for a launch game.

Ireland. It was from HMV, someone posted a photo of it on another board, I'll try and get it for you. I think €83 or something, for Condemned.

I mean, Ireland is generally very expensive for everything, but even lil ol' me who usually doesn't complain was taken aback by that.

edit - here's a pic, Thraktor from GAF provided:

That is spooky (that is a 13€ increase from the old maximum from XB, relatively to our prices), I hope that is only one/few game/s ( I am in dreaming awake mode today), I hope prices go down or the will lose gamers.

wow that's expensive. Here in canada the extra cost has pretty much had almost no effect.

All the MS games are $60 cad, and the others are $70. But that's really nothing new, games have always been mid 60's to 70 up here, so we're not seeing much difference.

I guess some regions are being hit harder than others. Here it's basically business as usual, I doubt many consumers will even notice the price has gone up slightly.

I don't expect to see ANY difference between X360 and PS3 game art. Both aim for a HDTV display, both support roughly the same polygon counts, have the same amount of memory, have support for similar complexity in shaders (=> number of texture channels), both will most likely realy heavily on normal and parallax mapping etc. etc. Style choices may have a strong effect on the art though, cartoon-like visuals can not rely on source photographs for texture work, as seen in Half-life; but nevertheless, we can safely assume that art production pipelines will be the same. Especially when compared to the difference
between the PS2 with its palettized textures and lack of normal mapping, and the Xbox with its DX8-level shaders.

Similar production pipelines will result in similar budgets for the same amount of content. Just because the PS3 has more processing capacity, the studios will not design more levels, more enemies or more cutscenes. As ERP indicated, budgets are more dependent on publisher decisions that tend to consider sales and other issues, instead of coding and design goals.

So no extras on the Blu-Ray edition?

Often games have more content on one version over the other.

Any chance that they develop more content than is needed and then just choose what makes the final product? Kind of like how directors shoot way more footage and a lot of it doesn't make the final cut?
