Halo Infinite [Fall 2021] [XO, XBSX|S, PC, XGP]

I'm not that surprised at that, considering this still has to run on an Xbox One with 5 Gigs RAM, 1.3 TF GPU, and Jaguar CPU.
They really need to say some features and game modes will not come to last gen due to it not being possible.
This isn't even a multilayer map that would devide the player pool.

If this title is supposed to last this entire gen, then they have to start to do it.

Yeah, this is going to hold them back. At some point they just need it cut Xbox One lose.

Maybe they could do that before selling the game?
They could but it was supposed to launch day 1 with Series consoles, prev gen was probably too big a market to ignore. Obviously it's now causing some issues with long term support.

Yeah, this is not a technical limitation. Its purely a dev/time trade-off.

They could simply make it a next-gen only feature. They could allow it to have terrible fps and resolution on One S.

But they just don't want to have to bother with all the testing, debugging and QA.

And given the studios size and budget, its not even a matter of time or money, but of organizational inneficency. Such a shame...

A few words from Sikamikanico of XboxEra on the inspiration of his Halo Infinite Forge map, "Curfew" that was hilighted at the end of the Forge video:

And the Forge video itself:

Infinite is quite impressive graphically, was playing MP yesterday after not touching it for awhile. Its a much better experience vs 2042 in every-way. Not bad considering its free to play (multiplayer).

Goodbye, Bonnie Ross. Halo was a shitshow on your watch.
Yea, there are things out of her control, but those within her control, in particular just getting the right staff together to make a product; that part seems to have been a critical misstep which imo has been a symptom since they've taken over. With the constant reports of crunch, employee churn, burn out etc. It's clear there were some larger priorities there that would have fallen under her domain even studio managers typically hands off for the creative process.

It makes sense to split the role, having a Studio Head, Franchise General Manager, and finally Business and Operations.

To that end, Microsoft also announced the leadership team is undergoing something of a restructure, splitting Bonnie Ross' role into three parts to better serve the franchise's growing footprint, which now includes a TV show and other cross-media projects.

Studio veteran and production lead Pierre Hintze will become studio head of 343i effective immediately, leading the studio's on-going development of Halo Infinite and The Master Chief Collection, as well as future games. The senior leadership team will expand with new roles, including Bryan Koski who will become GM of Franchise, and Elizabeth Van Wyck, who will oversee business and operations.

Spotlight Entry from 2018 on Elizabeth Van Wyck:

I hope whatever family issues are happening end in happiness.

I hope for the future of halo whoever they bring in can lead the franchise to a brighter future

My understanding is there is going to be 4 AA-AAA games in development at all times for Halo. so the splits in the studio make sense
