A few of the holdover weapons, animations what have you, about Halo annoy me and look ugly imo.
Covenant carbine (think thats the name) for one. Just ugly. Contrast that with the forerunner guns all looking cool.
Never been a fan of the whole ripping gun off turret and carrying it thing either.

Goes to show, that if you don't use big name actors you don't end up with a big time budget.
Looks badass from the trailer. Hope the whole thing is as good as the trailer looks. Loved it when MC showed up.

That one looks pretty good. However, I have enough consoles at home -3 Xbox 360-, long story (one very old, one from 2008 with HDMI and a slim, I've lent them to my siblings).First time my wife said "it be cool in the room"
May be it's time to change the 360 (for the last year before the Next Gen)

I am likely to buy a new generation console, if it's possible for me, when the next generation begins, whenever it happens.
Lately the only console I was interested in was the PS Vita. I just thought it would suit my life style then, and... over time I realized a portable console isn't that necessary for me after all.
I am still interested to some extent, but there are other priorities for me right now, expenses-wise.

But you do end up with something that looks like one of those 3rd rate TV shows.
For a game promo, it looks good, but nothing more than that.
I think it does look amazing, plus I believe it's aimed at the teen / halo market so to them it's probably the best thing ever; even if it wasn't amazing.
3rd rate tv shows? No way, the actors are way to good for that. The only thing that will probably feel off to adults will be the dialogue and the plot, that is judging from previous halo media. The acting will be top notch, believe it.
I have just watched a couple of videos about the game, but what I find impressive about Halo 4 is the music.

He's not too bad. Definitely a different take than Marty, but a good different. Sounds more befitting of a movie instead of a game, but I think it will still sound fine during gameplay.

I love the HALO soundtrack...hoping the new composer delivers, but this sounds already great imo!
MS has a pre-order offer...$25 Store credit. Got mine pre-ordered. Funny but this will be my first Halo game as I've never been a fan of the franchise until now. Never liked the art direction of previous Halo games but this newest installment looks good.

Well, they're certainly fun games even today, Halo CE Anniversary is a good demonstration of how the gameplay can still be entertaining. But Halo 2 especially is kinda ugly, even on a 360 it runs at just 640*480 upscaled.
However I've always found the story parts engaging, they've made some very good calls with the voice talent for the Chief, Cortana, and the Arbiter - and his storyline is actually pretty interesting, although it doesn't look like he's a part of Halo 4. These characters have some history that'll probably add a nice context to whatever's going to happen.
But it's probably not necessary to go through the games, there's surely going to be a story so far video from someone. It looks like 343 is building the game for a larger audience who's not that familiar with the first trilogy and they're exploring new directions so they'll probably explain everything in the game, too.
Short version: There's a zombie outbreak that threatens to destroy the galaxy, and it's up to the Doom Space Marine, who has recently been promoted to Master Chief, to stop it! Also, there are aliens who worship the zombies, and it turns out that it was created by a super-ancient civilization that's totally gone now and might have made the human race and left giant zombie-blasting rings all around the galaxy.
And now you know everything you need to know.
Halo 1 is a really good game right up until the Flood. Same with Halo 2. Of course the graphics are pretty dated. I'm actually playing the first game right now on my OXbox (never beat it on Legendary). The AI was really an achievement at the time, and it's still better than a lot of current-gen games.
I like how Cortana was initially not supposed to be hyper-sexualized, and then they said, "Screw it, let's give her enormous breasts and a perfect butt!"
