Its crazy they let this stuff through the net. I was late so I couldnt buy it before they delisted it, now unless they do an epic revamp I may not get it at all

    Nope.

Remember the ps4 version of RDR2 being a blurry mess ? Afaik they never fixed it.
Medias are responsable too, everything is getting a pass because if not they won't have review codes....

I've really been enjoying SA, but then I didn't play £60 for it.

So it's not even as good as half life source

Source is an iteration of the original engine running the original Half-life. What does UE4 have in common with Renderware?

I'm just pointing out that another game that was basically an engine swap managed to look better than the original while gta doesnt really therefore it was a better upgrade
where does renderware fit in ?

So they successfully recreated the original GTA III PC experience of shitty performance :runaway:
This has me wondering: does the original PC version still work?

Edit: that guy found it works better with locked framerate & forced DX12

I actually managed to get the original GTA 3 to work without compatibility mode, as well as Vice City and San Andreas.

Now I'm trying to remember HOW I did it, I spent most of a day on it a while back shortly after they announced the remaster.

What resolutions are people running it at that they're having FPS issues? I'm running a Ry5 1600, 2x8GB 3200, and an 8GB RX 580 and I'm getting well over 60fps or better...but I still game at 1080.

    Ugh.

I wanted to like it, I wanted it to be worth buying. JFC Rockstar, there's no way you're getting a dime out of me for this garbage, which is painful for me to say because I really enjoy the GTA franchise. Sigh :(

Someone put together their own definitive edition trilogy using the original releases and some of the best mods for them. Grabbed it from one of the usual shady places to check out yesterday and so far my over all impression is "DAAAAAAAMN! :O ".

They look/play so much better than this new crap! Ok mebbe the new ones still have better lighting and more shiny, but damn the old ones modded up look and play great and a whole lot better than this garbage...IMHO.

Still gotta give the newest re-release of the official one a try, but it makes me so sad to play them. I feel like I have to though, just to know how deep the rabbit hole goes...y'know?

It is so much fun being able to throw something together due to so many fans hard work that looks so much better than their remaster. Community4life!

So I have all the GTA 3 series on CD/DVD, the real challenge is finding my CD/DVD drive... Somewhere in the house I have a USB drive, guess it's time to dig it out and relive some glory days!

Mine is actually in the case but I gotta power down & disconnect a HDD to get SATA/Power :runaway:

    Edit: Installed.
It wouldn't run above 640*480 until I put the enb files in the install directory, now it runs 4k :yep2:
Seems it needs the DX8-9 converter to run.
But at least the default setup in that download gives me a really non-functional experience & I'm not in the mood for faffing with settings there.
    At least it plays.
Now how do I get it to play without needing my 2nd CD :?:

Edit2: looks like Silentpatch (fixes a bunch of bugs apparently) & files copied from the 2nd CD to install path cool :)

Edit3: I had forgotten how LOUD Optical drives are

So sold more than 10 million copies already
Just shows you how unfair this industry (like a lot) can be

here they quickly produce an absolute piece of junk and yet they vastly outsell other much more professionally produced games by magnitudes. You have to laugh :sad2:
