Gears of War Pics - Direct Feed in game

Looks quite dull, I didn't expect so many plain looking textures, flat lighting etc. The structure modelling looks pretty good though.
Epic didn't do themselves many favors by releasing all those incredible looking renders for the last year or so. The actual game looks seriously downgraded in comparison.
The only impressive screen in this thread looks like its another bullshot too.

now whilst i think it looks a fun game to play, like quake3, it has been the source of a deception maybe not as bad as killzone2 but still a deception and as such deserves to be exposed + spanked.

Cliffy said they only showed inengine pics/movies but 'forgot' to mention it was running on some uber PC. Well.. it still looks good (probably) but like I already mentioned these pics put this game in perspective. It was floating in the air and now it touched the ground.
These 'new' shots don't look so good to me. In fact, some of them look a bit bad compared to the old shots we had (and heck, current 360 games).
As a side note (but brought up earlier), I think Heavenly Sword's E3 showing on PS3 looked horrible too, I never once understood why anyone thought the game looked good.
[edit : one final addition, all UE3 games seem to have been downgraded similarly. The first UT2K7 shots show a decline in the newer ones too...]

The comparison you made is really bad. The only thing downgraded is the AA. That's it. The lighting is not. You're comparison sucks because you're using shots from two very different scenes that obviously don't share the same light sources.heres my take

Seriously, your comments are completely and utterly worthless if you're going to type it out like an 12 year old.
Currently, the game looks damn awesome. Much time have passed since first GoW pics... Note that, actually, people somewhat knew in their heads that the final game wouldn't look like year's 2005 pics, for many reasons. I am extremely happy with the final result, though. The game doesn't have much (if nothing, except AA) to envy to many famous old pics.
Great lightning, shader intensive high res textures, geometrically-wise the scenarios look great, if the game isn't anything to scream at then feel free to tell me what is and what is not.
Darkon, I am not sure. I don't like Kojima -imo, he is so mediocre and his mediocrity increases by every game he does- at all but he is a master at using positively charged emotional videos with his in-game engine. Looks like a pic taken from some a la Kojima "video" -without BR, woot!!- based on UE3 in-game engine.

You're looking for ******ism, then just stop. I could care less, I will never even play the game probably unless it comes to PC. I dont even care what the game looks like, it just annoys me when people type like they're retarded.
If you have enough sense to make a comparison then you should certainly have enough sense to type like you have a brain. It doesnt even matter if you spell or us puncutation correctly, if you think things such as "enuf", "ppl" and "u" cut it then you are very mistaken.
While possibly bringing up a very valid point, its pointless to read with such terrible writing.
