Gears of War 3: Brofisting to the End

Nice i just got to hear that i didn't get my preorder copy database mistake.
So im mailing them on why i didn't get any feedback on it.
They say i will get the Collectors edition without extra costs because they felt guilty

Gives me more time to focus on school linear algebra is a bitch for someone that didn't really used math for 2 years doing labor work in that time.

The Limited Edition for Gears 3 iis one of the poorest LEs ever imo....and its 60 quids !
Better off with the Steelbook or epic edition if you wanna go for a collectible.

Btw this game is my first 3D gaming experience ever, so I have a question...how is it that I actually notice far less jaggies in 3D eventhough it is running ata lower res? Infact at one point I directly switched between 2D and!3D to compare the aliasing in a power cable and in 2D it was hideous (the jagged edges) but 3D was surprisingly smooth.....minus the reduced crispness of image and the muted color/contrast ofcourse

Horde is great. Love the new base-building/fortification feature. I played 5 hours of horde yesterday!

So according to you guys who own an Xbox console would it be worth getting the console solely based on the Gears of War series?

The jaggies are an immersion breaking eyesore and disrupting my enjoyment of the game. I played for like 45 minutes before I got nauseous looking at. It's really a deal breaker for me. I actually didn't know I felt this way about aliasing until now. :(

I hope they do a Pc release...

I've noticed very few jaggies which is impressive considering there's no AA whatsoever

Damn! After the update...all my save games are damaged! I had to start all over again, and am forced to play the campaign again...what a pitty

TBH I've never found the games that great - playing Gears 1 in co-op was a game saver for me...made the whole experience pretty good, but I refuse to pay for live so I've stopped playing Gears 2 about 1/4 of the way through.

I'm not sure why I don't like the game - I just find it boring and repetative, however I know folk who love it it death (same with Halo for me - I just don't get the love).

I think it's very much down to personal pref, what sort of games do you like? If you love the (what I call) 'hardcore' games (like RfoM & KZ3) then I'd say you'd probably love gears. Personally I prefer games like Uncharted so maybe that's the answer - if your gaming pref is KZ>UC then I'd say go for it, if (like me) you pref UC>KZ then I'd say you're probably not missing much.

I bought my 360 just for Halo and in the end Gears has proved to be the better franchise. If it's a game you really want to play, and if you don't have a gaming PC, then your only option is a 360.

yep, this game looks incredible and is smoother than the previous games.

Yep. Frame rate is rock solid. Were the other ones sub-30 fps frequently, because this one feels incredibly smooth? I'm assuming it's 30fps without wavering, for the most part.

I'm only in Act 1, but enjoying it so far. Not sure I understand the complaints about the drab colours, because this one is way more colourful than the other titles. It isn't Mario colourful or anything, but it's nothing like the first title.

Haven't tried 4 player co-op yet, but I'm playing 2 player with my brother and it runs without a hitch. No lag to speak of. Also the multiplayer servers are very good. No lag to speak of. I'm sure there's some lag hiding going on.

Can anyone confirm if I can play on Live with one person signed in as a guest?

I've got alot of free Live codes to put to use for this game, but they would last longer if I didn't have to use one for each person

You're talking split-screen with a guest? Yes. Yesterday I was in a game with two people with gamertags like this: Name, Name(1). I believe there is a "Sign in as guest" option on the group screens.
