Gamestop conference call interesting industry numbers!

A few comments from the conference call (thanks to someone).

-they are expecting msft to meet demand soon on 360 with in-store unit availability

- their model expects a price cut on ps2 (at E3 to 129.99), and they expect 2006 ps2 console numbers to reach 5mil. They also expect record PS2 SW sales for Kingdom Hearts and FF12. Expect SW sales to decline overall in PS2 by 20%

- they expect 5 mil PSP sales in 2006 behind the recent price cut

- PSP and DS SW to double in 2006 over 2005

- FN3 and GRAW has done very well. Oblivion pre-sales above expectations and plan so far. In general they are pleasntly surprized by new game sales in 360. There has been no disappointments, on the contrary, they are pleasntly surprized

- in feb 06, they gained 1 percentage point market share

- expecting PS3 and Revolution to launch in November, but expecting conservative numbers (750k of PS3 in NA by year end)

These are their forecasts (expectations), not 'industry numbers'.

If PS2 reaches 5million....that'll be incredible. I know the system has alot of juice left in it, but damn. 4.5M 2004, 5.5M 2005, 5M 2006...just would be spectacular.
I haven't heard much buzz around KH2, I know the game is supposedly great, and the first is one of the best-selling games this gen, but it is coming out of in a week and the lack of hype is surprising.

PSP sales + PSP/DS software should be pretty hefty as well. X360 software is continuing to sell great it looks like too.

I wonder if that PS2 price cut will really happen around May. I didn't think Sony would cut the price until this Christmas season.
