Oh no worries. I'm only going to be home for a couple weeks, and then I'm off, so I wouldn't see much use of a new unit. I'd have just waited out the refurb anyway.

(I'm majorly bummed out that I won't make progress killing locust for a couple months. I'm already at 37,500 kills out of 100,000. )

Will you be able to get the repair process started before you leave? When mine did a RROD way back in 2006, the whole process took about 10days. Not sure if it's slower now.

I'm gonna try for it. I sent the the request yesterday, but I'm not sure how long it'll take for the box to arrive. Canada is slow. :[ I'll have roughly 15 business days starting Monday though. No one's going to be home after that. From what I can tell, the repair center is on the opposite side of the country. Do you know what sort of shipping they use? (fast or regular shipping)

It was quick. I called and had the box within two or 3 days I believe. Sent them the 360 and had it back the following week. Then again, I'm in California and not a 3rd world country! FedEx > mules

Completely OT, but is this an NA thing or an MS thing? Sony in the UK replace a defunct PS3 with a different PS3 on the door, so there's no delay. Is that how they operate over the Pond, or do all companies over there run a repair process?

I've heard they just send you a new unit (at least for RROD/E74).

I got a shipping label for UPS :| So wait, do they actually send me a box or do I have to put that stuff together? darn.. shoulda done that last night...

Not sure if they changed it now but back then, they would set me a box. I'd give them a call and get it sorted.

hm... I think I'm going to just put it off until I get back. From experience, UPS takes 4 business days to get from where I am to Toronto, and they certainly don't operate on weekends. So that cuts down on time. Canada ftl.

I'll be taking my X360 (sorry PS3) with me to Arizona next week. The place I'm staying has free WiFi. Hopefully it'll be good enough for Live gaming as I will be stuck there for the next 6 months.

In the meantime, is anyone up for some MP tomorrow night? I'm good for whatever the group wants to play? (assuming I have the game).

When I had to send my unit off last November to fix the DVD drive(No RROD), it took 6 business days from the day I sent it till I received mine back. They didn't fix mine. They replaced it with an older manufactured refurbished one.

I got Forza 2, but haven't played it yet...I'll try to get some time in it tomorrow during the day.
I'll need to clear space for Red Faction if I download it. I'll probably delete both free Fable dlc as I can only play it co-op with someone who bought the premium dlc.

They replaced it with a falcon... good enough I suppose. The drive is a notch quieter though.

MS really ought to have a Game-Addon filter for the download history. Considering how they categorize the content, it's a bit strange not to see the same categorization in there. I'd like a download-all button or even a tick-list capability to select what items I want to queue up for re-download instead of going through one-by-one.

That's too bad. It supposed to just be added to your que which you can also click to confirm they were added. They should then start auto download next time the box is on. Maybe be sure your box is on and logged into live before asigning?
