Formula 1 - 2013 Season

Kimi flying as soon as he got past Vettel, second faster than Alonso and second and a half compared to Massa

Both Ferrari's on old tyres now though, Alonso will be in soon and out in the lead still.

With current gap it's just about there, might come out front with perfect stop, but anything but perfect and probably not, and Kimi keeps on taking nearly second per lap

Alonso in! Softer tire so short stint, Massa in too. KIMI GOT PAST BOTH and Ferrari's definitely need to stop once more!

Mediocre stops by Ferrari today, not like them. Every second could count in this one as well. I would expect Alonso to be past Raikkonen in a couple of laps.

The Ferrari's are going to be incredibly fast at the end of the race.

Possible Ferrari 1-2 here? Massa past Vettel now and Kimi only has the hard tyre left.

Looks like Massa will be trying to hunt down Raikkonen on the medium tyre late in the race, but for me they've kept him out too late.

And instead they put him on the hards 3 laps after Alonso? That doesn't make sense, he just lost 7-8 seconds to Kimi those last 3 laps.

Can Massa take 12 seconds out of Kimi in the last 9 laps? Could be close.

Tbh it wasn't the most enjoyable race although it was a pleasure to watch Alonso's drive.

This tyre situation needs to be looked at. Can't believe it but I'm actually starting to agree with Red Bull that this needs to be changed. You've got a driver like Hamilton being made to drive like he's taking his car out for a walk - no wonder he sounded so despondent on the radio. Half of that was Merc's fault though, they should have been 5-stopping not 3-stopping.

Still, not much point in paying $20 million salaries for the quickest drivers if they aren't allowed to be quick.

Red Bull will be doing some head scratching as well, they were well off the pace.

Choice between boring races or drivers not really racing seems simple enough. Sad fact is, hardly any of them today were really racing, they were managing tyres.

This, of course, is ridiculous. Your problem is that your favourite didn't win. As to the racing- all of them were racing, who would be able to achieve the highest speed while at the same time taking care about the tyres. The fastest car with the fastest driver won today. So, I really don't see your problems- it is all relative to the view point.

I'd love to know who you think my favourite is lol.

I think it's pretty clear to everybody else that I want to see Alonso winning not only this race but also the title. Anything to stop another Vettel win tbh, and he's the only one likely to beat him.

Yes the problem is they aren't racing as much as they are saving tyres. How many times did you hear it on the radio? Vettel was told not to fight Raikkonen, Hamilton was told to drive like an old lady, Perez was told not to fight Button, Massa was put onto hard tyres with hardly any laps left and after pushing for 3-4 laps they were completely done.

There was no racing done today outside of the first few laps.

Monaco should be good for the Merc but apart from that it is royally screwed.
Looks like Mercedes have managed to increase qualifying performance and made the race pace worse.

Was a slightly boring race in some respect as Alonso really dominated but was interesting seeing some of the battles.. shame Perez was told to hold station against Button, pretty sure he could have dominated him again.

In other more important news, Richard Branson honours his bet against Tony Fernandes (have been waiting for this believe it or not!)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-22499827

Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson got dressed up as a female flight attendant after honouring a bet he lost to Air Asia chief executive Tony Fernandes.

Donning a uniform, he served passengers on an Air Asia charity flight from Perth to Kuala Lumpur.

Mr Branson and Mr Fernandes had a bet on whose teams would finish first in the 2010 Formula One Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

The plan was that the loser had to dress as a female flight attendant and serve passengers on board the winner's airline.

A lot of people think Hamilton or Rosberg can win in Monaco but I can't see how. Even if they qualify first and second they just won't last long enough on tyres. It'll be one of the main three winning it again or I'll be very surprised (though Webber is also good at Monaco).

It is your fault that you don't realise that if they want, you will never ever know about these communications. And at that point the race itself will hardly make any difference for you compared to race when they push as much as they can, and don't save their engines and other critical components of cars
