The sense of scale in that 1Up video is clearly impressive.
That's what I call next-gen.

Yeah it's about time..good to know MS little box had it in it. Sometimes lately I was doubting..

There was always Gears of War for that highly impressive next gen look but that was it. Kinda made you wonder.

And we get this soon..so double good..a really nice surprise.

I will be purchasing this for sure.

Man that new trailer is simply by far the most awesome yet! I really need it in hi-def! The helicopter battle, wow!

I wonder if we'll see a couple weeks delay since UBI keeps saying only "March".

Gametrailers has the HD version now. This game is sweetness concentrated.

Correct me if im wrong but isn't the first one taken from the E3 target movie and the 2nd the actual game footage.

You can tell from the polygons in the main character, but the draw distance in the 2nd screen is jaw droppingly good.

What about the co-op campaign?

This game is actually 2 games in one, they have completely new objectivs and levels for co-op play. For the co-op campaign they took multiplayer maps and created levels out of them, that should be about the farthest thing from boxed in that you'll be able to find.

Actually this addition of a 2nd campaign unlockable only in co-op mode is sheer genious, 2 games in one, talk about added value and replayability factor!

Were you replying to me?

I was talking about the HUD and possibly the FOV, ruins the immersion.

Demo soon?

5. Will there be a demo in the Marketplace soon, so we can experience the beauty of this game for ourselves in high-definition?
Yes there is, we are putting something special together as we speak which will be out soon.

Nice! Can't wait for the demo.

I am gonna buy the PC version (mouse and keyboard is still best IMO), but I think also I must have the Xb360 version. :)

I saw some (very) good looking things in those demo's but there were also some disappointments. Overall probably 1 of the best looking games in this genre yet.

Global illumination usually refers to any rendering technique that takes not only lightsources, but also the light that is reflected off surrounding surfaces into account when calculating the final output (aka radiosity). Dozens of different methods exist, but all are too computationally expensive for realtime.

For games such lighting information is usually pre-calculated and baked into texture- or vertexmaps. Very possible GRAW uses some sort of pre-calculated GI maps for the city, maybe even with a little interacitity hacked in (similar to PGR3). I highly doubt there's any sophisticated realtime-GI going on though. Basically "true" realtime-GI won't be possible for quite a while IMO, although some promising technologies have been surfacing the past years, which are trying to fake the look. Some of those will surely make it into games over time...
