DriveClub by Evolution Studios [PS4]

season pass now £10 - worth it? what do you get?

This Season Pass includes:
• 38 amazing cars from the world’s leading manufacturers.
• 176 extra Tour events for your single player career mode.
• 80 PlayStation® trophies to earn from the extra Tour events.
• 80 livery designs to customise your cars with.

It\s beyond worth it at that price, it's a steal imo. Best season pass I've bought.

DC has one of the best season passes in the last few years. They really did a great job with it.

Driveclub is in an league of its own when it comes to track detail and i think this is what differentiates it from all other racing games in motion.

Impressive indeed but having so much detail it's a bit of a waste for a racing game in my opinion.
Sure the "quality" of the simulation contributes to make the players (the ones that can appreciate it) feel more immersed but you literally won't note all the fine details here while moving at 220kmh or without photo-mode.
I feel that great detail should be reserved for games in which you can really appreciate it playing "normally".

I think that overwhelming trackside detail in DriveClub really helps it. When I drive, I am not only feeling the rush of driving itself, I'm also feeling that I'm driving through amazing places that are incredibly dense with detailed objects. Every time I drive through some track I see something new.

Is it worth getting the season pass?

Are there new nice tracks?

I think the tracks are free for everyone. You just get tour packs that use the new cars and tracks. Imo it's definitely worth it, especially at that price. If you like Driveclub at all you should get it.

And yet people have long compained that Gran Turismo's environments are not built to the same level detail as the vehicles. I agree with you, though. If you're able to see the environment in any level of detail you're driving too damn slow!

Would love to see Evo get a chance to do DC2 and see what they can improve for the graphics engine. Seems they're relegated to just keep doing content expansions though, but it's better than nothing.

Even if there will not be a DC2 in this generation and Sony had decided to make Driveclub something like a game as service, I don't think this preclude the possibility of future upgrade to the graphics engine : after all, Driveclub has launched without ousrain or snow, so I think they are going to improve the original code with patches to permit the release of new, more ambitious, content.

I'd welcome improved AA, sometimes it can look quite rough. Also improved materials, i don't like how most things look like clay under direct sunlight.

DC2 is not needed to see improved graphics. This game gets graphics update on regular basis. 1st weather, later on heat haze, now it seems they have improved reflections on the windshield. At least that is my impression after last patch - new reflections can be distracting, but there is no denying that they seem to be sharper and more detailed.

Most probably season 2, i hope for a touchup in the graphics department personally. Better AA/AF and no clay pls :yep2:
