That's funny. Why would any sensible professional come onto a public forum and use either a public ID (or potentially leave a "digital trail") and reveal NDA information just for the hell of it?version said:dualcell, nda a very shit thing

I think it's 1U rack server (pizzabox) rather than blade.xbdestroya said:It's a blade setup.
It always seems as if Sony is too sophisticated than they need to be. A server blade? Has Sony seen most developer's work areas? Oh well, I guess. Devs can always install a rackmount kit on the upper half of their cubicle.xbdestroya said:It's the typical 'dense' server setup form-factor.
On the side, it doesn't seem outlandish at all that Sony would be pursuing such a design, considering that IBM has already developed a blade form factor Cell setup, and Mercury will be utilizing one as well (though based on IBM's reference I believe).

BTW, Embedded Technology 2005 (http://www.jasa.or.jp/et/english/index.html) conference was held at Yokohama, Japan in Nov 15-18, and at the panel discussion Masakazu Suzuoki said they'd start to supply workstations with 3.2Ghz Cell to PS3 developers in December, which indicates they are on the track.
