DeanoC do you know when you get the final PS3 Harware?

multimilliondollar companys dont work with suprises. the timefrime is most probably a given, and exact day is another given that may or may not be happen.

Probably they know so they can plan the development for lauch titles, but I guess we will only know after they get theirs;) .

They know the spec or at least the range of specs possibly (minimun and max), is because of that that we saw the done to spec movies at E3, other way they coldnt do the games if they did not know what they can do in the games.

Nope. The final PS3 kit will come with a "Big Dick". :D

Sorry for the cheap joke. Couldn't resist. :p

Guys I'm interested as well, so let's just wait patiently for Deano to answer, no need to clutter. ;)

@Kodama - That slide indicating December 2005 doesn't really mean much, especially since it was from several months ago. If a dev working on a PS3 title could give us a real-worlr estimate for their dev house, that would give a clearer indication.

yes I agree with xboxdestroya , let's wait for a concrete answer. But i read that Rockstar or another developer got their kits on september, but i can be wrong. don't know if it was the final kit or not.

Back when it was first announced that nVidia was doing the GPU, there was an nVidia conference call where the CEO stated "the plan" was to have the GPU "in production" by the end of calendar year 2005.

We have not yet even heard if the chip taped out yet or not...(I assume / hope it has for Sony's sake). Now, Sony can always peel off some pre-production but "up to spec" silicon for use in final dev kits, but that would only be a handful of units. We should really be hearing of "final" dev kits sometime in January or February very latest if a spring launch is going to be had in Japan. (Sony will have to start production of the retail hardare in March.)

If stores had extra x360's sitting on their shelves, then people would be complaining that M$ failed with this launch. All of the media outlets would be reporting about how easy it is to get an x360 and that it's a sign that most gamers are waiting for the PS3. I'm sure there is no bottleneck and M$ sent retailers exactly what they wanted to send them.
