Yeah, yeah...I was just alluding to the notion that companies using other company products to assist in development is hardly a rarity. ;) If it is a good tool for the job, you use it. I see no problem with it. If you have a competing tool from in-house, then that is more debatable as to what meanings are given if you still choose another, I grant.
 
Is Linux an undeserving platform to push progress ahead? My impression is that it has the potential to become anything and more of what Windows is today, even if it currently isn't in the same state of development. If there is a place forward that Linux can be pushed, why not? :D
 
Most development for consoles are on Windows workstations. It's been this way for a LONG TIME. The reason, the main software tools run on Windows.

This is the case with the Dreamcast, the PS2, the Gamecube, and the Xbox. Why should it be any different for the PS3?
