Besides, Sony Computer Entertainment President & CEO Ken Kutaragi was there and we asked him about the release schedule of PLAYSTATION 3. He said "it's on schedule at the present time. At least there's no delay caused by the Sony side."

As co-developers of the Blu-ray next gen format, it was about time that Sony and Philips "offically" announced their Blu-ray disc players. However, they are still being cagey with the deets. Sony can only tell us that they plan to start offering a Blu-ray DVD player "this summer" while Philips, on the other hand, showed us a picture (above) but wouldn't commit to a date beyond second half of 2006. Come on sissys, Toshiba threw down two players for March supporting their HD DVD format. More details...pretty please?

ROG27 said:You should be asking yourself this question...why would Sony blow the lid on PS3 when they are having a dedicated PlayStation event in February and if the extra month or so will allow them to polish up what they will have to show?
Sony cannot repeat the mistakes Microsoft made with showing things that were not ready to be shown initially. That is your answer.
