Does the PS3 have enough inputs for it to work as a Location Free base for streaming your TV and recordings, I don't remember there being any video inputs unless that another HDMI is one, and even if it were there aren't that many DVB/HDD units with HDMI out yet.wco81 said:Location Free stuff is very tempting.
But the Sony product is more expensive than the Sling Box, although only the Sony supports using the PSP.
Some have speculated they might use PS3 as the base station, instead of having to buy the $350 Sony LocationFree box.

Conceptual design has been used since TGS I think?
I know "conceptual design" had been used with the controller since E3. Interesting it isn't in these pictures.
(from E3)
The console design has actually gotten less curved according to some reports, but I think generally the design is locked. Which is cool, because I think its sleek.
Stringers keynote in 5hrs, hope 'tis as packed as Bills was. Doubt it'll have any PS3 info though, but theres always hope.

New Standards for Home Entertainment
The biggest buzzword in HDTV is "1080p." And Sony delivers The Full Power of HD, going beyond ordinary 1080p thanks to the company's remarkable Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD) panel. DLP 1080p televisions continue to use a single chip and a color wheel which is subject to color breaking that may be visible. In contrast, Sony SXRD televisions incorporate three separate chips for red, green and blue, with two million pixels each, for color that's consistent. Sony SXRD televisions display all the pixels, all the colors, all the time. This is the way High Definition was always meant to be.

1080p sony xrd? or does it upscale?
You mean besides the giant "SPRING 2006" banner sony showed at the e3 launch right?
Qroach said:Yeah right. if they were truly going to launch in spring, I think they would have annouced or shown a heck of a lot more than they have by now. Anyway, that (spring date) referred to Japan. I'm talking about regions outside of Japan.
