Can one memory channel burn out?

I have a new Epox 8RDA nforce 2 motherboard and only one memory channel works!! If I put memory in the other channel i get 2 long beeps and then an alarm when I try to boot up. Anyone have any ideas?

I assume you've tried swapping the ram around?

Oh yeah, I swapped the ram, tried different stick etc. Nothing works. I even tried downclocking the ram to see if that might help. Nothing.

For reference yes it's entirely possible for one channel to break.

Man that really sucks! I have TWO PC3500 memory sticks on the way. I only have one slot to put them in!!! And I can only run 64-bit memory mode!

Must be pretty new if it is an NF2.. RMA time?

Any idea how the problem occured or is it just a duff board?
