Did Dean Takahashi forget who had designed GC/Wii's CPU?

I assume that he meant the PowerPC core in the Cell, which is the PPE, not all PowerPC cores, like the 750 in the Gamecube & Wii.

Maybe it's just that. MS would have to have paid for the extra work to be done. Instead they seem to have benefited from Sonys cash in terms of R&D.

And Sony benefited from IBM and Toshiba's cash and R&D work.

If they wanted exclusivity on all Cell based knowledge they should have develop it by themselves.

Imagine if the 360 contained a dual core cpu glued together Intel style consisting of 1PPE and 3 SPUs on each core, now that would have been major egg on Sony's face
