That's the problem. If this thread was intended to be purely subjective it should be named: "Favorite graphics of 2015". Instead, it's named "Best looking games of 2015" which implies objective discussion and that includes different viewpoints on which criteria to use to make that selection.
No. The problem is when people (like you) make stupid, childish posts such as:

The Order over Battlefront

Only a very sick and twisted individual could think TO is more of a game than BF.

1) TO: Tiny, static, uneventful environments. 30 fps.
2) BF: Large, dynamic, action packed environments. 60fps.

Yep, TO wins

Edit: I'd also put Just Cause 3 in the ranking.

Just say what you think is the best looking game and move on! How difficult is that to understand? And I don't even actually disagree with you about The Order!

The childish thing is getting angry because somebody disagrees with you on the internet

It's a discussion forum, if you can't handle different viewpoints maybe a blog with closed comments is a better format for you ;)

The childish thing is thinking your opinion is right and everyone else's is wrong. As I said, I don't even disagree with you, yet I can see how your trolling comments contribute nothing to the discussion.

Yeah, it's all subjective. What i don't like is trying to form an opinion on something i did not play. For example, i can talk about the things i like and don't visually in RoTR but i don't consider my opinion well informed, because i didn't play the game yet.

Common sense is required here. Since there's no objective way to measure the quality of graphics nobody should be naive enough to expect to participate in such a discussion. Particularly regulars here.

That type of rationale thinking has no place here on the internet.:D Trust me, if everyone's opinion had to be based on real world experience, gaming forums around the net would have 90% of the post wiped out.

For example, I wanted to be in on the fun, and I love Xenoblade Chronicles X, so I voted for it, but its honestly the only game on the list that I have played. So inherently my opinion is worth what everyone paid for it. ;)

Absolutely. How many 'Best' anything lists on the internet have any form of objective measure? And 'favourite' doesn't quite mean the same - people can have a favourite film that they wouldn't consider one of the best films ever made.

So far, it looks like the average gamer prefers pretty pixels packed into perfect, petite portions,

I think that only holds true if you make the assumption that the result would be the same if it were The Order that was multiplatform and Battlefront that was PS4 exclusive. I don't think that's a safe assumption to make.

To me "best graphics" means "most visually pleasing to you," not best tech or any of that shit. If someone said the best graphics were in Ori and the Blind Forest, then sure. Someone could pick a stylized game like Transformers Devastation for recreating the look of the original cartoon. Whatever gets you off is fine with me. It's not a competition. It's just an opinion.

Voted for star wars battlefront though I think technically the order is better, I just didnt like their excuse for the reason for the blackbars was to make it more cinematic, if they were upfront and said its cause we couldnt hit the framerate with fullscreen I'ld appreciate it more than being bullshitted to

I also picked the Order. RAD put every last resource into making sure they'd end up with an extraordinary pretty game, sacrificing everything else for the sake of said goal in the process. I think it worked.

For me it's a close tie between battlefront and the order.
I'll chose the order because of what my GF and several friends who are not into games told me while watching me playing, that it looked like a CGI movie.

But it's not really fair because I did not play all of the games in the list.
What I saw of Tomb raider and Halo 5 cutscenes on youtube looked close to the order.

They show The Order running at 60 fps on PC and it is gorgeous.

Thinking one is right in a discussion is childish? lol.

So much for subjectivity.

Seems like criticism is allowed, but not if the object of that criticism is exclusive to a certain console

Tricks and techniques for arguing on teh internets 101:

  • Opinion about a game (good)... name calling of anyone with a different opinion (bad).
  • Providing a different opinion (good)... attempting to ridicule anyone for disagreeing (bad).
  • Providing an opinion once (good)... repeating it every time someone have a different one (bad).
  • Discussion about a game (good)... making shit up about posters (bad).
  • Answering the question of the poll (good)... asking to change the question (bad).
  • Figuring out "best looking" is personal and polls are statistical (good)... trying to argue objectively about "best looking" (bad)
  • Forming an opinion by playing a game (good)... forming an opinion watching a trailer on youtube (bad)
  • Using "roll eyes" emoticon when it's called for (good)... using it every time someone disagree (bad)
  • Understanding this post a joke (good)... arguing about every item in this list as if they all apply to you (bad)

That's Nesh being facetious and everyone (else) appreciating it's rivalry in the spirit of fun as the reaction is overly emotional and there's no attempt to justify his assertion with some 'objective' points. It's a subjective opinion dressed in boisterous language.

Furthermore, even if Nesh was being serious, he's comparing like-for-like games and not saying someone's like of corridor shooter visuals is wrong because the game isn't an open world game with time-of-day.

Edity: Nesh. Nesh was cited though Scofield responded to DSoup.
