Benchmark with Matrox Reff Demo on non-Matrox cards!!

nope, just open 3danilyse, check "matrox reef demo fix", then go to the "#1 exe (selcect aplication file)" box and set the path to the setup exe for the demo. then hit the run button on 3daniyse and it should be a cake walk from there. at least it was for me in windows xp with dx9 and the cat3.1s. good luck.

lol, ya i pulled a stupid and had to reread the thread three times before i figured it out myself, so you are not alone in this boat.

well I did not see the chcek box the first time through..its not like there is only one or two check boxes on the 3d program So yea I am a dumb.....

understood, that played a large role in my difficulties as well. i really don't understand why they had to make the writeing quite that small.

Not sure what I did wrong before, but when I reinstalled the FX 5200 Ultra and tried the Reef demo, it worked this time, although no textures showed up. Also got to check out the NVIDIA Fairy demo for the first time too, pretty nifty, although the background is super blurry and really offsets the sharp Fairy herself. Expressions are neat too, although it ran a little slow for my tastes on this card.

Also contained in there is a link to a much older thread with some numbers from Parhelias when trying to benchmark using FRAPS (you have to make sure you only average over "complete" cycles). I would be very interested in seeing some graphs (also max/min/avg/stdev) like the ones I produced from other cards if anyone else is as bored as I sometimes get...
