Banjo Threeie

Textures are really great. I'm not talking about resolution, tiling, parallax etc. We simply don't get realistic textures in 3d games. Coupled with lighting (excluding nonuniform shadow directions), game looks very good.

Art style sucks big time though.

I personally think the game looks beautiful. Art style over effects any day. It makes me wish I still had my Xbox 360 more than any other game I've seen or heard of.

Eurogamer has a positive preview up. The new screenshots are definitely very 'clean' and having seen some higher quality video feeds now, I think I agree with Joshua. The engine may not incorporate any stand-out technical features, but the whole is a very solid engine

Reserve Banjo Karoozie and get the original Banjo on XBLA free

Ready your spring-loaded propeller boat and fasten your seatbelt, “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” is hitting U.S. store shelves on November 14, and pre-orders begin today. For the retail price of $39.99, those who pre-order at participating retailers will get in on all the Banjo fun right off the starting line, and as a special bonus, will also receive a free download code for the original “Banjo-Kazooie,” launching on Xbox LIVE Arcade later this fall.

As Kazooie likes to say, “The early bird gets the worm.” Since the original “Banjo-Kazooie” will not debut on Xbox LIVE Arcade until a couple weeks after “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” releases, pre-ordering the game gives you a two-week head start on the Arcade title and the opportunity to take advantage of “Stop N’ Swop” before anyone else. “Stop N’ Swop” rewards players’ accomplishments in the new game with extra content and features in the Xbox LIVE Arcade game, giving fans who pre-order “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” the chance to experience more Banjo action than ever.

Wow this game is shaping up to be a really good value

It doesn't state where to preorder so it seems like this goes for all stores.

I wasn't going to buy this , but i think $40 bucks with the original is too good to pass up.

I was already buying this, but I'll definitely pre-order now too. I get the Banjo, and my wife will get the old Banjo for $40. Man what a deal.

Shifty technically it looks like a very advance engine even if their art doesn't match up to it and as for the geometrics radiosity, that is a term stated by one of their engineers in a recent interview when asked about the 360 hw that they are incoporating to their engine and from the interview he seem to be implying that more and nore features would be added to the engine. That said if u want more demonstration of how good the engine is, i suggest u check viva pinata 2, now i can only imagine how good a bald space marine, grey and brown fps would look with this engine............perfect dark 2 ;)

Edit....the geometrics radiosity is a feature that they are working on adding to their engine for future use

A little question here :)
What is the purpose of such an effect?

Framerate is consistant on this one, at last!
It seems a still a bit too low for me but it's way better and could be due the vid quality.

EDGE, Building Your Own Banjo

there’s a fair chance that Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts may live to be one of the most cruelly misinterpreted games in history This is because, at first glance, it’s easy to dismiss this as a potentially desperate attempt to revive a flagging platform genre......But what Nuts & Bolts is really about is putting things together. And why not? With the ideas behind LittleBigPlanet and Spore already firmly established in the gaming firmament it only seems appropriate that a major Microsoft Game Studios release might go that way as well.......It’s a difficult path to tread, but if Rare can win people over to its vision of old IP in new configurations, then Microsoft may have a chance at taking on Nintendo at its own game. There’s no doubting that there’s a big task ahead, but the rewards could be enormous and, as the name suggests, companies like this don’t come along every day.
