Assassin's Creed - New Interview

the difference people should care about is presence/absence of rumble

Yes. It's not like the swinging and balancing or even the horse riding in this game are great fits for the sixaxis or anything. ;)

So are they saying that the PS3 version currently has slightly better textures but the 360 has a slightly better framerate? (they're being examples of the different things the two games have going for them)

Well, it'd be a significant step up from the aberration that was Double Agent on PS3, if true. ;)

They didn't say that... (although itis the most probable interpretation).

No the 360 has slightly "different" (perhaps better) textures and slightly better framerate.

i am never expecting ubi guys to do good job in perspective of framerates, they are always unstable! i guess it won't make much difference to difference between both versions. ;)

I don't expect much from the PS3 version based on Ubi's recent past. But I will just get whichever is best if they come out at the same time.

Where did they say that? I don't see any mention of better textures for the PS3..

"There shouldn’t be any differences at all. We’re sharing the exact same assets. The engines have the same capabilities. Both systems have different things going for them (1). With PlayStation 3, currently, you can see maybe a slight difference in some of the textures (2). With Xbox 360 right now you may see a little bit smoother framerate (3), maybe a couple more frames per second right now. It’s so negligible right now that unless you’re sitting there looking at them both side by side, you’re not going to see any difference. "

1) He says both have an advantage in one field or other
3) He says XB360 has an advantage in framerate
2) He says PS3 has different textures

Now if XB360 has both a better framerate and better graphics, how do his examples coroborate his statement that both systems have advantages? Statement 1 implies the following two statements are examples to illustrate statement 1. Perhaps the PS3 textures have a little more shader work going on or somesuch?

The take-home point though is that it doesn't make any difference! Whether the XB360 has a better framerate by a couple of frames, or better textures, or both, the take-home point is any differences are small enough to not matter one iota.

In similar fashion to Oblivion, I would not be surprised if the texture assets are identical but the PS3 incorporates anisotrophic filtering which in term makes them appear slightly crisper

Texture filtering was actually very good in the X06 demo.

I wouldn't know. I don't even remember her saying that during the presentation but even if 360 was lead platform from day-1, I wouldn't be surprised.

If I recall correctly, she said something long the lines of "This is the first time we are showcasing the game live, and we are doing in on the Xbox 360."

New interview

http://www.xboxyde.com/news_4439_en.html
For this new GSD, enjoy an exclusive interview of Jade Raymond, producer of Assassin's Creed we've had the pleasure to meet during the Ubidays. Honestly, we were afraid nothing would come out of this little talk as the game is still under high secrecy, but Jade didn't hesitate to reveal a ton of new details about Assassin's Creed in this twelve minutes long video interview we're offering you today.

Tons of new info.

And as a added bonus, jade is wearing a revealing outfit. Nipple slip @ 4:40 (haha N O T !!)

Jade speaking in French =

Aside the typical Jade worshipping  , some really good info on that interview.

She looks a little worn out. Probalby traveling a lot to promote this.

It must have a pretty big budget and it must have been in the planning for a long time, with all these historical consultants, trying to get the details of the town down.

Well they have a lot of sequel potential with other Gothic cities.
