Assassin's Creed - New Interview

I have a 360. Am I supposed to cheerlead for everything Xbox like some around here?

what do you care? really ... why would you give a flyin fock how excited someone else gets about a game they want to play? That's a huge difference between what you think you're trying to accomplish compared to what is really happening.

Of those whom you like to call "Cheerleaders" at least most do NOT go into Sony based threads and crap all over them like you do 360 threads.

your "alleged" balanced perspective on gaming is not a cover for your obvious trolling of the 360 threads.

Really?

You could have fooled me.

Do I need to show you credentials because I don't hop from thread to thread hyping 360 games and poo-pooing PS3 ones? I own far more 360 and Xbox games than any other platform. Feel free to send me a PM on Live too.

And no, its not about cheering every platform specific title on, you seem to have an agenda against SC:C. Based on what your posting in that topic.

Yes, I have an agenda against SC:C :???:

The gameplay thus far in the SC:C video doesn't look all that fun while AC does, a simple opinion.

From the forum rules:

If you suspect someone to be biased or worse have an opinion distinctly different from yours about a given subject, then *FAST*, don't waste time, contact the authorities of your country, as soon as possible, and explain them that someone, on the internet *cough*, disagree respectfully with your point of view on a videogame machine!

...Sigh...

Opinions are like... err... hairdo, everybody has one (Except John Reynolds, may his hair rest in peace).
And, interesting fact, message boards were created in an attempt to exchange those opinions with other people (No, they weren't made for exchanging hairdos).

Bingo. From Arwin crapping the Forza thread, tkf bitching in the HD-DVD thread, to you now crapping in the SC5 thread. At least respect the fact that other people may actually like something you don't without trying to shit on their taste.

Is it me or is there more talk about trolling than games?

Criticising something should be allowed. Are atheists who provide strong arguments against the existence of God called "trolls"? Perhaps some Christians might believe so, but I think that is the wrong way to look at it.

What should be looked at here is not whether someone prefers a certain system, or they are more critical of one platform...sometimes that has to be suffered, what should be considered are the actual arguments put forward. If they are illogical and invalid then so be it, argue against them. But just because they are ALWAYS negative in one area, does not in my opinion, reduce the validity of the criticism.

These are my views (I myself have been accused of being a troll by Ostepop :/ ).

NB: This does not mean i'm defending the "offender" as I haven't read the offending posts...but perhaps this is better way to look at the situation.

I've never really enjoyed the slow paced painful gameplay, I finished the first one though. The new one doesn't look like much fun yet.

Comparing SC5 to AC, the pacing for both seems to be very similar with the same painful gameplay SC is known for. Minus the names and anyone could of mistaken SC5 as AC 2007 knowing the background of the AC game and the very similar stealth mechanics with crowds.

I don't see anything about the gameplay trailers themselves that would allow anyone to distinguish one as looking fun while the other looking boring.

well that goes hand in hand with the more trolling around here in general.

At a certain point though the noise to info ratio goes through the roof and this site becomes null and void. Many of the comments of reference are not "points" of view, but simply a contrarian opposition to other's opinions in order to get a rise out of someone and be argumentative. that's trolling.

I get very excited about many/most good 360 games but I keep out of the Sony threads unless I have something good to say because it's not my place to try and kill everyone else's buzz. some people feel this urge to sway the public perception of these stupid consoles with mudslinging and it's ridiculous.

Why don't you want to comment in Sony threads? It'd be interesting to do some psychological research into this area. For often it feels like if you are on one side, your eyes and thoughts underestimate the "opposition" and you overestimate the one you own. Often this appears to be subconscious also and unintended.

Strange indeed. I think you should comment on any thread you like, though you should be aware of both your perhaps subconscious feelings as well as others (as well as these "trolls" you speak of).

Deep.

Ps. I have to say I'm very excited about AC. I loved POP...and this game just seems to have so much freedom. Jade says you can play it your way, and to be honest I'm not too interested in the social stealth aspect (wasn't a huge fan of Splinter Cell OR MGS) because what I want to be doing is climbing everything and running around over the roof tops killing fellows.

They would be if they constantly came to church every Sunday espousing that they don't believe in God yet claiming they're part of the Christian faith.

I personally don't have a problem with Todd33 as his arguments tend to be thought out and his responses civil. But I like others notice his bias for the PS3 under his guise of 360 ownership. But we all have our favorites and regardless of how hard we try our bias will show itself in our arguments, opinions and beliefs. Some just are just more able to suppress that bias when trying to make an argument or formulate an opinion.

You know I think it might not be as bad on here. But in another site there is one member who claims to have a ps3. And at any chance he'll hype the 360, but downplay the PS3...and any game it's ever had. Even after providing impressive shots of Motorstorm he said "well I and you know those aren't ingame" (some taken by a camera)...but you just can't deal with that.

I find it very very strange. Truth be told I do like the PS3, but I don't own and Xbox360...and I wouldn't dream of downplaying it...as I haven't expreienced it. Yet I feel unreleased games are fair game for criticism whichever system they are on.

I like a good debate (it's my profession...philosophy) and I may get quite into it, but I always feel I'm trying to be logical. (note "trying").

Anywho...Was a bit disappointing Jade didn't show off some gameplay.

I don't think SC5 and AC are that comparable. They share some ideas... but after all AC is a platform game with swordsplay and SC has gunplay and brawlers. And crowd interactions are different in each one.

AC is one of the hottest titles this year. I love when developers approach to make player choose his own style of playing the game andd that you can accomplish missions the way you want. Definitely looking forward to it.

because I don't believe we can extrapolate enough info this Gen from screenshots so outside of playing the demos or games, it's a waste of most people's time to state their opinion of what they know nothing about. So all we have left is talking about what "may be" when we actually get our hands on the game. Since I don't plan on owning a PS3 for a while, I see no need for me to comment on the things that I may not ever experience 1st hand.

oh and as i said, I do speak up when something interests me or if something obviously looks good.

"There shouldn’t be any differences at all. We’re sharing the exact same assets. The engines have the same capabilities. Both systems have different things going for them. With PlayStation 3, currently, you can see maybe a slight difference in some of the textures. With Xbox 360 right now you may see a little bit smoother framerate, maybe a couple more frames per second right now. It’s so negligible right now that unless you’re sitting there looking at them both side by side, you’re not going to see any difference. "
