Can we just take a second to appreciate Uncharted 4 and what Naughty Dog were doing in 2016 and earlier

The comparison is quite unfair. The scene in which Spiderman 2 is shown is from a very curated special gameplay section, therefore the lighting system and character lod are designed to give the highest possible fidelity that otherwise is uncommon during normal gameplay sections. Whereas the Uncharted one was taken from a normal gameplay scene.

edit: Just see here in a better situation how good Drake's model can look
That photo mode still have "bad" lighting...and as far as I know "photo mode" is not gameplay?

Photo mode is also on the first videos.

Photo mode on Uncharted is exactly the same as during gameplay visually and it is taken from a normal gameplay section. And in that section the detail of the model looks significantly better because the lighting despite not being perfect, it highlights better the detail.

The difference in character quality between the photo mode in Spider Man 2 and Uncharted 4 has less to do with the character model.

The skin still looks "worse" (to plastique/reflective) an ligthing looks "old" IMHO.

Like I said I have played neither games, so I am not colored by which one i "like better", just giving my honest opinoin :)

Let's not exaggerate. It was a very good looking game with beautiful animations and it still looks good to this day, but it's definitely not up there with the best of them and hasn't been for a few years.
Yea, this is fanboy rhetoric. All of the games from last-gen and most games from this generation have a longing need for accurate lighting beyond screenspace rasterization. Looking at the games that implement full path-tracing is way far ahead of those old techniques. It's not even debatable.

I actually think this compensates for the different scope of each game. Arguably most sections of UC are "special sections, where the lighting system and character lod are designed to give the highest possible fidelity".

Even as such the above section in U4 is taken from a more "generic" gameplay standpoint. This is compared to a specially designed section in Spider Man 2 that differs from the rest of the game .

If there is a similarly linear indoors section in Uncharted 4 maybe it would be a better comparison.
